Philadelphia indie rockers Hop Along released their sophomore album Painted Shut on the Saddle Creek label this Tuesday to critical acclaim. The quartet features Frances Quinlan (vocals, guitar), Mark Quinlan (drums), Tyler Long (bass), and Joe Reinhart (guitar). A water main break sent a geyser of water shooting high into the air from the middle of the street this afternoon in Montgomery County. It happened around 1:30 pm on the 600 block of Ashbourne Road near Rolling Green in Cheltenham Township. An 8 in. main broke and a 30 foot fountain of water erupted from the pavement for over 30 minutes before crews were able to shut off the water. Singer Miley Cyrus announced the launch of her Happy Hippie Foundation on Tuesday. The 501c3 nonprofit organization was created to "rally young people to fight injustice facing homeless youth, LGBT youth and other vulnerable populations." Two mothers are facing charges after Philadelphia Police had to rescue two toddlers from a roof in the city's Frankford section. Officers responded to the three-story home on the 4700 block of Leiper Street at about 1:30 p.m. Monday after neighbors called about a child on the roof. They forced their way into the third floor apartment and found a 2-year-old boy out on the roof and a 1-year-old baby trying to climb out the window. Kanye West had previously announced that the follow-up album to 2013's Yeezus would be named So Help Me God. Well, on Saturday he tweeted that he has changed his mind and will now be calling it SWISH. West also tweeted: "It may change again. But that's the name now." He's already released a few tracks from the album including 'All Day' which you can hear below.

Three Dead in West Caln Fire; Northeast Extension Reopens; Brush Fires in Burlington County

Three women were found dead after a fire in West Caln Township in Chester County this afternoon. It happened shortly after 12 noon on the 300 block of Hill Road. Two adults and two children escaped the blaze in the double wide trailer home. The house was completely destroyed by the flames. All seven people in the home were family members. Investigators have not determined the cause of the fire but they do not consider it suspicious. The names of the victims have not been released.Read More

Electronic music pioneers, Kraftwerk, have announced a rare 12-date North American leg of their current 3D live tour for this fall. The multimedia tour has brought them to cities around the world, and they have stopped for residencies here in the states in New York, Los Angeles, and Oakland. However, they haven't played in many of the cities on this announced tour in decades or ever before. They will take over the Electric Factory in Philadelphia on October 2nd.

A woman was shot and killed in North Philadelphia on Saturday night. It happened before 9 p.m. on 5th Street between Susquehanna Avenue. and Diamond Street. The woman in her 40's was shot in her head and neck. She was rushed to Temple University Hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later. Police are looking for the shooter, although it is believed that it is a man that was living with the victim. The investigation is ongoing.
