Governor Tom Corbett announced today that he will not appeal the federal court's ruling that lifted the state's ban on same-sex marriage. Corbett issued a statement reaffirming his personal beliefs as a Catholic that marriage should be between a man and a woman, but that his duties as a Governor require him to follow the laws and make judgement to the likelihood of a successful appeal. Pennsylvania's Defense of Marriage act was overturned by a federal judge on Tuesday, effectively lifting the state's ban on same-sex marriage. U.S. District Judge John E. A man in Bristol Township, Bucks County is under arrest after a homemade bomb exploded early Monday. Police and fire responded to the residence on Midwood Lane in Levittown around 1 a.m. after reports of an explosion and fire. 30-year-old Thomas Piscione told authorities that he made bombs as a hobby and one had accidentally gone off. Two men were stuck and killed by a freight train in Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County. It happened around 7:30 am near the abandoned Valley Forge National Historical Park/ Port Kennedy train station. The Norfolk Southern train contained 3 locomotives and 36 cars. A 4-year-old boy is recovering today after falling from a 3rd floor window in South Philadelphia last night. It happened after 10:30pm on the 1100 block of Bainbridge Street in the city's Bella Vista section. Two men have been charged with the death of 41-year-old Camden mother Fatima Perez. 36-year-old Carlos Alicea-Antonetti of Camden and 57-year-old Ramon Ortiz of Pennsauken have been charged with murder. A Lower Makefield, Bucks County, man was sentenced Tuesday to 935- to 1,870-years in prison for sexually abusing a girl over 4 years and video taping nearly every assault. Judge Albert Cepparulo wanted the sentence of 81-year-old Thomas Holliday to serve as a warning to other child predators.
