This season of Penn State football could have been a complete disaster. However, most players decided to stay in Happy Valley and play for a team under heavy sanctions that is ineligible for the postseason for the next 3 years. The Nittany Lions finished the season 8-4 and first year coach Bill O'Brien won Big Ten Coach of the Year honors.

Debra Sullivan Miller, the 38-year-old Tinicum Township, Delaware County woman who went missing November 18 after a trip to the grocery store, has returned home to Essington. Police did not suspect foul play but she was not in contact with her family, was not reachable, and had left her car. Her brother explained that this was completely out of character. While she had disappeared she missed her 14 year old daughter's birthday and Thanksgiving.

Authorities confirmed that a Chester County man that skipped out on his probation has fled the country to Ireland, but they don't plan on chasing him down. 23 year old Sean O'Neill Jr. of Glen Mills has been in trouble with the law constantly since he was a juvenile. In 2006, O'Neill killed his best friend while playing with a gun during a night of drinking. He was 17 at the time and adjudicated in juvenile court. Raghunandan Yandamuri, 26, of Upper Merion, Montgomery County was ordered to be held for trial at a preliminary hearing today. On October 22, he allegedly murdered 61 year old Satayrathi Venna as she fought back Yandamuri's attempt to kidnap her 10 month old granddaughter, Saanvi Venna. Delaware County police are asking the public's help in finding a woman that has been missing for a week. Debra Miller of Essington left her home last Sunday, November 18 to the go to the grocery store, but never returned. She has not been seen or heard from since. The authorities do not suspect foul play but they have searched the wooded areas around her home anyway. The City of Philadelphia has announced Free parking at meters and kiosks every Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. and going to 5 p.m. until December 29th. The first free parking Saturday was yesterday, though many people may not have been aware of the policy, despite PPA's PR efforts. The free parking deal applies to meters citywide. Hurricane Sandy did extensive damage up and down the New Jersey coast. In Seaside Heights, NJ it knocked the entire roller coaster of the Funtown Pier off into the ocean. The roller coaster has been sitting in the waves since the October 29th landfall. Mayor Bill Akers says that a decision has not been made yet as to what to do with the coaster, but they are exploring the option of just leaving it there.
