The annual Geminid meteor shower is expected to peak in the early morning hours of December 13th and 14th, Saturday night into Sunday morning. Hundreds of family, friends, firefighters, fellow first responders, and other well wishers came to pay respects tonight to Philadelphia's first female firefighter killed in the line of duty. 36-year-old Joyce Craig lost her life battling a blaze earlier this week at a house fire in West Oak Lane. Police found the body of a Gloucester Township woman today who had been reported missing since last Friday, December 5th and charged a suspect with her murder. The body of 59-year-old Susan Johnson was discovered in a wooded area in Evesham Township near Willow Ridge Park. 30-year-old Miguel Angel Diaz has been charged with first degree murder. A Philadelphia judge found a man guilty today of first degree murder in the shooting death of an off-duty police officer. Judge Jeffrey Minehart ruled in the non-jury trial that 25-year-old Rafael Jones was guilty of the attempted robbery and murder of 40-year-old Officer Moses Walker Jr in August 2012. Investigators were searching the Schuylkill River and nearby canal this afternoon after they received new video related to the disappearance of college student Shane Montgomery. The video from Christie's nail salon shows Shane after he left Kildare's bar early on Thanksgiving morning. A Philadelphia man has been arrested after the body of a woman was found inside the trunk of a car Sunday night in Maple Shade, NJ. Police were notified by the victim's family that she was missing. Using the vehicle's On Star, authorities were able to track her car to a Burlington County hotel. A Good Samaritan was seriously injured early Sunday morning after being hit by a car on I-95 while helping another driver. It happened around 5:00 a.m. in the southbound lanes near Rt 430 in near Route 420 in Tinicum Township, PA. 31-year-old Daniel Callaway, a volunteer fireman, stopped to help a driver who had been in a single car crash. Early Saturday morning, organizers of the Phoenixville Firebird Festival got word that the festival's centerpiece, a 30-foot high wooden Phoenix, had been set on fire by vandals.
