Philadelphia medical examiners confirm that the sudden death of a Drexel University sophomore was caused by bacterial meningitis. Stephanie Ross, a mechanical engineering student, was found unresponsive in her sorority house by her sisters on Monday and taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center where she died. The sudden death of a Drexel University sophomore is believed to be a case of meningitis. The exact cause of mechanical engineering major Stephanie Ross' death is not known at this point, but Universiity officials are taking precautionary measures. The so called 'wedding crasher thief' has plead guilty to stealing cash and gifts from two different weddings last June. 35-year-old Joseph Patrick Franzone Jr. of Bridgeport plead guilty today in Montgomery County Court to theft and attempted theft charges. On June 9th 2013, he stole the card cage containing $3000-$5000 from the William Penn Inn in Lower Gwynedd Township. Police are searching for the driver in a fatal hit-and-run in Collingdale, Delaware County. 58-year-old Timothy McCaughan was crossing the intersection of Clifton Avenue and Spruce Street around 9:30 p.m. Friday when he was struck by and older model SUV. Gloucester County prosecutors have charged an ex-boyfriend in the murder of a woman found dead in her home on Wednesday night. 55-year-old Rocco L. Carsillo has been charged with first degree murder, third degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and other related offenses in the death of 50-year-old Margaret Ann DePietro. A woman was found dead inside her Gloucester County home last night. Investigators have ruled her death a homocide. 50-year-old Margaret Ann DePietro lived alone at The Grande complex in West Deptford. She was found by a family member at around 11pm after DePietro did not answer the phone earlier in the evening. New Jersey investigators have identified the woman killed yesterday in the house explosion in Ewing Township. The explosion happened just before 1 pm Tuesday afternoon at 28 Crockett Lane in the South Fork Housing Community. The female victim has been identified as 62-year-old Linda Cerritelli who lived at the residence. Her body had been found by a cadaver dog on top of a car near the explosion. A massive explosion rocked the South Fork housing community in Ewing Township, NJ this afternoon killing 1 woman and injuring 7 others. It happened shortly before 1pm on Crockett Lane along I-95. Mayor Nutter announced today that he has reached a deal with a Connecticut company to sell the Philadelphia Gas Works for over $1 ½ billion. The company, UIL Holdings Corp., based in New Haven would buy the public works for $1.86 billion. Some terms of the deal include holding the base rate for three years, continuing low-income assistance programs, and guaranteeing current PGW workers jobs and pensions.
