Overturned tractor trailers made a mess for morning commuters around Philadelphia today. The first overturned Southbound on I-95 at Bridge Street blocking 3 lanes and stopping traffic in both directions. On the Northeast Extension of the PA Turnpike, another tractor trailer overturned on 476 South between Quakertown and Lansdale backing up traffic for miles. The good news – No serious injuries were reported.

Philadelphia Police say a 15-year-old girl is dead, and a 19-year-old man is in critical condition after both were shot just half a block from Einstein Medical Center in Olney late Monday afternoon. A group of more than 50 teens and young adults were near Broad and Olney, then minutes later police were called about shots being fired in that area. The 15-year-old girl was dead by the time police could get to the scene. The shooter was able to get away, but a number of witnesses are cooperating... Read More

The Philadelphia Eagles are 3-0 after a classic battle with NFC East rival Washington Redskins. Former Eagle Desean Jackson beat Eagles cornerback Cary Williams for an 81 yard touchdown. After the game, Williams suggested coach Chip Kelly is wearing his team out at practice and are tired by game time. Kelly’s conditioning has been credited with the team outscoring opponents 72-24 in second halves.

A tour bus overturned Sunday afternoon killing two passengers and injuring 49... Read More

With Philadelphia's Puerto Rican Day parade and festival less than a week away, Deputy Commissioner Kevin Bethel says he wants to put parade and festival goers on notice that bad behavior won’t be tolerated in any part of the city. He especially pointed to two, alcohol-free, after-parade celebration areas which are being set up Sunday, September 28 at Fairhill Park and Lighthouse Field saying if anyone comes through the thing with an ATV or a dirt bike, they will be taking them. The Black Keys and Cage the Elephant concert on Saturday 9/20 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia was nothing short of sublime. If not a full house, it was close. My best description of the audience reaction to both bands was a full throttle ovation!

Cage the Elephant was not just a warm up act, but the 1st course of a fine musical meal. The power and energy exploded from their performance. Matthew Shultz, lead singer, exhibited his gymnastic and vocal skill in... Read More
