The bodies of two people have been found dead inside of a home in Lower Moreland at 12:50 p.m. this afternoon. Investigators are at the scene on the 1100 block of Country Lane (off of Paper Mill Road) in the quiet wooded neighborhood trying to determine what happened. The couple was found by their 14-year-old son who called police. Lower Moreland Police say that the bodies of the 48-year-old man and his 43-year-old wife were mutilated by a chainsaw. Darby Police say that the girlfriend of Officer Mark Hudson used his service revolver to shoot and kill him inside his Glenolden home on Saturday afternoon. 27-year-old Tyaina Finch is facing charges of 1st and 3rd degree murder and related offenses. She is already in custody after being charged in an incident from last summer in which she threatened Hudson with a knife. Two Temple University football players accused of beating another student at an off-campus party back in January, are in court today. Dion Dawkins and Haason Reddick were suspended from the team, after turning themselves into police earlier this month. The 20-year-olds were charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, criminal conspiracy, and recklessly endangering another person.

A new study of commute times shows the average Philadelphia driver spends nearly three days a year stuck in traffic. The navigation company TomTom released its annual Traffic Index report, measuring the impact traffic congestion has on over 200 cities around the world. Philadelphia City Council is talking today about a bill requiring regular safety inspections of food trucks' fuel tanks. Council is trying to prevent another deadly accident like the one that happened last July when a food truck erupted in flames on Feltonville Street. A taxi driver was arrested overnight after leading police on a chase and crashing into a fence in South Philadelphia. Police say they received calls of a taxi going the wrong way. When officers found that taxi, police say the driver was asleep behind the wheel. When he wouldn’t wake up, the officers broke the window. Authorities have identified the off-duty Darby police officer who was shot and killed in his Glenolden home on Saturday afternoon. 26-year-old Darby Borough Officer Mark Hudson was found shot in the chest in an upstairs bedroom in the house on the 600 block of Magnolia Avenue around 4:30 pm Saturday.
