The Philadelphia Eagles have traded starting quarterback Sam Bradford to the Minnesota Vikings for a first-round pick in 2017 and an additional pick in 2018. Bradford was acquired by the Eagles in a trade two years ago that sent Nick Foles to the St. Louis Rams.

The Philadelphia Soul led the Arizona Rattlers wire-to-wire in the Arena Football League championship game on Friday night beating the home team 56-42 at Gila River Arena. Philly jumped out to the early 21-0 lead in the first quarter and held the odds-on favorites at bay for the rest of the game. The Rattlers may have had the league MVP Nick Davila and coach of the year Kevin Guy, but they were no match for Philly's QB Dan Raudabaugh and a stifling defense that created turnovers.

The NCAA followed recommendations Monday in the second annual report by U.S. Sen. George Mitchell which showed significant progress by Penn State university and the athletic department. They have decided to eliminate the football program's postseason ban and restore their bowl eligibility immediately. Penn State will also receive all 85 scholarships for the 2015-16 season.
