The Philadelphia Eagles have chosen offensive tackle Lane Johnson of Oklahoma as the 4th pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. Johnson is 6' 6" and 303 lbs. He was an all-state quarterback in Texas in high school, started his college career as a tight end, eventually moved to defensive end and finally ended up on the offensive line. He displays quickness and athleticism, strength, and solid technique, but lack of experience at the position could be a weakness.

| Multiple reports say 76ers head coach Doug Collins will resign at the end of the season. He has told the ownership the he has decided not to return to the sidelines for the final year of his four year contract. Collins informed owner Josh Harris of his decision in recent days. If he coached the final year of his contract, the 6ers would have paid $4.5 million. | Rutgers has fired their basketball coach. After the ESPN show, Outside the Lines featured video of Rutgers Men's Basketball coach, Mike Rice berating players during practices, the school has decided to fire him. The video was revealed to the school in November showing Rice throwing balls at players, grabbing them and using racial and gay slurs. The Villanova Wildcats garnered a #9 seed and will play #8 North Carolina in the South Region on Thursday in Kansas City, MO. It was announced today that the 29th Philadelphia International Cycling Championship will not be held in 2013, originally scheduled for June 2. Race organizers hope to bring the race back in 2014.

The Phillies continued to check off their Christmas needs list this December. Fresh off the trade for OF Ben Revere the Phillies have acquired Michael Young from the Texas Rangers for right-handed reliever Josh Lindblom and a Minor League pitcher, Lisalverto Bonilla.

This season of Penn State football could have been a complete disaster. However, most players decided to stay in Happy Valley and play for a team under heavy sanctions that is ineligible for the postseason for the next 3 years.
