One person has died and four others were injured in a crash between a car and a tractor trailer on the Pennsylvania Turnpike early this morning. The accident happened westbound between Mid-County and Fort Washington just after midnight. The four injured young adults were transported to Abington Memorial Hospital in serious condition.

A man died early yesterday morning in a one car crash on City Avenue at about 6:30 AM. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash, which occurred at about 4:20 AM. The crash destroyed the vehicle and ejected the man from the car. He was rushed to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he later passed away.

A city council committee has signed off on a sweeping overhaul of how Philadelphia handles large vacant buildings. The changes were spurred by the deaths of firefighters Robert Neary and Daniel Sweeney in April 2012 battling a blaze that had begun in a vacant warehouse. Among the changes called for in the bill are better systems to make sure the large vacant properties are secured and inspected with information on the properties readily available in a database. The CDC announced today that it will start tracking everyone entering the U.S. from Ebola-stricken nations. Those people will be monitored for symptoms of the disease for 21 days. This includes American aid workers, federal health employees and journalists, and West African visitors. 70% of people that arrive from Liberia, Sierra Leone and New Guinea enter in one of six states including Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The more you use it, the more money goes to an animal shelter or rescue group of your choice. WoofTrax donates money it gets from sponsors and advertisements. Police reported seeing suspect Eric Frein near the Swiftwater Post Office in the Pocono Mountains, leading to an intensive police search. Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice Seamus McCaffery was suspended yesterday after it was discovered that he sent pornographic emails to his coworkers. The court ordered Monday that McCaffery be suspended on an interim basis with pay. The order also read that Pennsylvania's Judicial Conduct board must decide whether or not to file formal charges against the justice within 30 days.
