The National Weather Service has confirmed that an EF-2 tornado struck Delaware County on Thursday evening, 10/31. The tornado damaged dozens of homes, around 8 severely, along Chelsea Court in Thornbury Township near Glen Mills. Trees were toppled, roofs torn off, and windows were shattered by the intense winds along a 3/4 mile path. An EF-2 tornado can have wind speeds of 111 to 135 mph. A suspect is in custody and four family members are dead after a shooting in West Philadelphia on Wednesday, 10/30. Police responded to the 5000 block of Walton Avenue around 12:40 p.m. to perform a well-being check on a couple after they didn't show up for work earlier on Wednesday. There is a $10,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest of those responsible in the assault of a South Philadelphia man earlier this month that has left him in a coma. It happened on October 11 around 11:30 p.m. outside of Cookies Tavern, on the corner of Alder Street and Oregon Avenue. 48-year-old Frank Tarantella was found lying on the side walk. Philadelphia Police are still looking for the driver in a fatal hit-and-run accident over the weekend that killed a young man who was out walking his dog. Family has identified the victim as 26-year-old Michael Canals. Canals was walking his dog Rosie along the 700 block of West Berks Street on Saturday afternoon, 10/26, when he was struck by a dark green Pontiac minivan with heavy tint. A Philadelphia man that was shot in the back at a popular night club early Saturday morning, 10/26, walked to nearby Hahnemann Hospital only to realize that it was closed. A high ranking member of the Philadelphia Police department was indicted by a grand jury on sexual assault charges. 54-year-old Chief Inspector Carl Holmes turned himself in to police on Thursday morning, 10/24. He was arrested and suspended 30 days with the intent to dismiss. Holmes is charged with the commission of aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault, and other sexual offenses. In an incident last week, a Philadelphia Eagles' lineman was forced to wield a shotgun against an intruder at his New Jersey home. Corbyn Nyemah of Marcus Hook, PA, went to Eagle's DT Flether Cox's house in Mullica Hill, NJ, to make contact with his ex-girlfriend who was staying with Cox.
