Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan said today that two reports of people finding needles in candy after trick-or-treating in Kennett Square on Halloween last Saturday are "unfounded." The first incident involved an 11-year-old girl who put her mother's own sewing needles in a Twix chocolate bar. She showed it to her parent's who called police. Philadelphia Police are investigating after the body of a girl was recovered from the Delaware River this morning. Police were called to Delaware and Linden Avenues in the Torresdale section of Northeast Philadelphia around 11:15 a.m. The Philadelphia Police Marine Unit found an unresponsive Hispanic girl on the river bank near the Linden Avenue boat ramp. The body of the juvenile was taken to the medical examiner's office for identification. The investigation continues.

The Tredyffrin Township Police Department has filed charges against three middle school students for creating and sending sexually explicit messages in a sexting investigation dating back to last April. The suspects range in age from 11 to 15. Most of the photos were selfies from students at Valley Forge and Tredyffrin-Easttown Middle Schools. According to an attorney for Brendan Creato's father, D.J., toxicology results for the boy whose body was found in the woods near his home three weeks ago have come back negative. Brenden went missing on October 13th from his father's apartment in the Westmont section of Haddon Township. His body was found a few hours later in a wooded area near the Cooper River a few blocks away. The Manayunk Bridge Trail over the Schuylkill River opened today for the first time in almost 30 years. The bridge trail is .6 miles long and open exclusively for bicycles and pedestrians. It connects Lower Merion's Cynwyd Heritage Trail with the Schuylkill River Trail and Main Street in Manayunk. The construction took 4 years and cost $5.76 million. Also known as the Manayunk Viaduct, the bridge was built as a railroad bridge in 1918 and was closed in 1986.

Pennsylvania State Police used shotguns to deflate the runaway Army surveillance blimp that broke loose from its mooring in Maryland and came to rest in some trees in North-central Pennsylvania. The 243-foot long craft was tethered at Aberdeen Proving Ground and came free early yesterday afternoon. It caused power outages as its tether got caught it power lines along its way.
