Jim Herr, founder of Herr Foods Inc., died last night at his home in West Nottingham, PA. He was years old. He is survived by his wife Miriam of 65 years, 5 children, 20 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. Herr had contracted pneumonia last summer. This past December he developed a more serious pneumonia that made it difficult to swallow food or liquid. He passed surrounded by family.

The Flyers beat the Buffalo Sabres tonight 2-1 knocking the Sabres out of the playoff picture. The Penguins garnered a win over the New York Rangers 5-2. According to the Census Bureau, Philadelphia and the surrounding counties' population all continued to grow since the 2010 National census. The 2010 Census was the first since 1950 that Philadelphia showed an increase. Prince Edward, Queen Elizabeth II's youngest son, is coming to the Philly on April 26 and 27. He'll be in town for a series of events marking his mother's 60 years on the British throne. Jazz Appreciation Month is set aside every April "to draw greater public attention to the extraordinary heritage and history of jazz and its importance as an American cultural heritage. In addition, JAM is intended to stimulate the current jazz scene and encourage people of all ages to participate in jazz". It was started in 2002 by the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History. This marks the second year that Philadelphia is officially joining in JAM activities.

Today crews lifted the top three sections of the statue of the Virgin Mary back on top of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden. The statue has stood atop the hospital for more than six decades but was damaged last August by the unusual earthquake felt up and down the east coast. It was brought down by crane in November when cracks were discovered. $65,000 in funds were raised to cover the insurance deductible from all across Camden. A couple from South Jersey was lucky enough to catch the eye of Country star Martini McBride. Christina Davidson and Frank Tucci from South Jersey, exchanged their vows live on stage during the award ceremony in Las Vegas. McBride and Train serenaded them with song "Marry Me."
