The City of Philadelphia formally submitted its bid to host the Democratic National Convention in 2016. Friday was the deadline for cities to file their bids with the DNC. Mayor Nutter made the official announcement today highlighting our city's world class airport and Amtrak hub that makes travel to and from the area simple. A Bucks County doctor has been arrested on charges of owning and distributing child pornography. 36-year-old Quentin Parker of Levittown was arrested on Thursday. An undercover investigation led Penndel Borough police to Parker. He was caught transmitted numerous images and videos of 9-13 year old females engaging in sex acts from April 19th to June 3rd. Two men are under arrest after a bank robbery in Havertown, PA this afternoon. It happened just before 2pm Thursday at the Santander Bank branch at 130 North Eagle Road in the Manoa Shopping Center. The men implied they were carrying a weapon. After the robbery, the men fled the bank and into the neighborhood. They were quickly apprehended, but Linwood Elementary was put on lockdown temporarily. A man shot during a home invasion this morning in Philadelphia's Mantua section has been identified as imprisoned abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell's son. 22-year-old Baron Alexander (formally Gosnell) was shot by a resident of the home on the 3700 block of Brandywine Street in West Philadelphia around 7 am Wednesday. The speakers and program for tomorrow's memorial service for businessman Lewis Katz have been announced. Former President Bill Clinton, Ed Snider, Mayor Nutter, Gov. Corbett, Sen. Cory Booker, and others are expected to speak. Katz was killed on Sunday with 6 others in a private plane crash in Massachusetts. The service will be held at 11 am at the Performing Arts Center on the campus of Temple University.

A woman was injured and a man found dead in an apparent failed murder suicide in Montgomery County this morning. The shootings took place around 10 a.m. at a home along the 2200 block of Harvard Drive in North Wales, Montgomery Township. Neighbors reported hearing two gun shots a few seconds apart. A Delaware County man has been charged with stealing $357,000 worth of human skin grafts from a Philadelphia hospital. 54-year-old Gary Dudek of Wallingford worked as a sales representative for a Massachusetts-based regenerative medicine firm. He was in charge of placing orders for Mercy Hospital in West Philadelphia. A black bear spotted early Friday in Horsham Township, Montgomery County was eventually euthanized by the Pennsylvania Game Commission. Several people spotted the bear around 2am behind the Wawa on Route 611 near County Line Road. The bear left the parking lot and disappeared back into the woods. Former Philadelphia sportscaster Don Tollefson has been ordered held for trial after he waived his right to a preliminary hearing in a Bucks County court Thursday morning. He is accused of selling ticket and travel packages to individuals and groups under the guise of charity but never delivering the goods. Early this afternoon a student at the Community College of Philadelphia rushed into a classroom and pulled a gun on a classmate. The confrontation led officials to evacuate the building and lockdown nearby middle and high schools. Around 12 noon, 23-year-old Ryan Martinez Fitch entered a chemistry class and argued with one of the students. He allegedly brandish a gun which prompted everyone to leave.
