The death of an 8-month-old child of a local "faith healing" couple has been ruled a homicide Brandon Schaible died on April 18th. His parent's, Herbert and Catherine Schaible, are fundamentalist Christians who believe in the power of prayer instead of modern medicine. The Medical Examiner found that Brandon died from bacterial pneumonia and dehydration due to a Group B Stretpococcus infection. No charges have been filed. A two-story office building in Havertown was evacuated for over an hour early this afternoon for a carbon monoxide leak. The L&M Professional Center located at 31 S. Eagle Road near the intersection oF West Chester Pike and Eagle Road was quickly evacuated shortly before 1pm. A CO alarm in Domino's Pizza on the first floor of the building alerted the presence of the colorless, odorless gas. Bucks County prosecutors called him the "mastermind" of the entire robbery plot that ended with Levittown musician Danny DeGennaro shot to death, even though the Trenton man didn't fire a shot. Police are still tracking a missing University of Rhode Island student on his way home from college to Skippack, PA in Montgomery County. Matthew Royer, a 21-year-old pharmacy student, left university in Kingston, RI on Thursday night. A Ventnor, NJ woman has been charged with the murder of her husband who disappeared 6 years ago. Loretta Doyle Burroughs, 61, was arrested for the murder of Daniel Burroughs, 66, on Friday. The cold case was reopened in February when Police were contacted by family members of Daniel Boroughs. UPDATE:Philadelphia Police have arrested Caleb Lawrence McGillvary, aka Kai, at the Greyhound bus terminal at N. 10th and Filberts Streets in Philadelphia. McGillvary has been charged with the homicide of Joseph Galfy, Jr., which occurred in Clark, N.J. on May 12, 2013. Bail is set at $3 million. Mayor Michael Nutter announced a funding package today that would give the Philadelphia School District $95 million in additional budget. That is significantly more than the $60 million the district requested to fill it's current budget gap. $22 million would come from raising the liquor-by-the-drink tax from 10 percent to 15 percent effective July 1st. Former West Philadelphia abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell has agreed to give up all future appeals in his case in exchange for life in prison without parole. Gosnell was found guilty yesterday of first-degree murder of three babies born alive and viable during abortion procedures, involuntary manslaughter of a woman who died of an overdose on anesthesia, as well as over 200 counts of other violations. The popular DJ who was shot inside the Haagen-Dazs Ice Cream shop at 2nd and South Street over the weekend was found with a large amount of drugs in his apartment. Tom Watson, 36, also known as DJ Fenicx, was going to his apartment above the shop when he was murdered. Surveillance video shows Watson trying to fight off his attackers before he was shot. The jury in the capital murder trial against former Philadelphia abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell has reached a verdict. The jury has found Gosnell guilty of 3 of the 4 counts of first-degree murder for snipping the necks of babies born alive during abortion procedures. He was also found guilty of involuntary manslaughter of former patient Karnamaya Mongar after she was given a lethal dose of anesthesia.
