Triplets are rare. Identical triplets are almost unheard of (pictured). But a Baltimore couple gave birth to identical triplets earlier this month. Tom and Kristen Hewitt welcomed identical triplets to the world on October 6 at Greater Baltimore Medical Center. The Camden Riversharks, the independent professional baseball team that has played at the city's waterfront Campbell's Field for 15 years, has ceased all operations, according to a statement from the team. The statement said the decision stemmed from "an inability" to reach an agreement on lease terms with the ballpark's owner, the Camden County Improvement Authority.

Paul McCartney played Philadelphia on Sunday. You missed it? So did most of us. The former Beatle played a private party at the Convention Center. The two hour performance before about 1,000 people in the trucking industry was arranged by Freightliner Trucks possibly with the help of Sir Paul's wife, Nancy Shevell, an executive at New England Motor Freight. A judge has signed an order directing former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky be brought to court for an appeal hearing in Centre County. Sandusky is serving 30 to 60 years in a state prison in Greene County for his 2012 conviction on more than 40 child-sex abuse charges. He's appealing claiming his trial attorney was ineffective.

Panic swept through a Route 52 SEPTA bus yesterday when a young man on board accidentally let loose a pet boa constrictor (pictured). The snake, named Red slithered his way from under his owner’s jacket and into a compartment inside a seat. Amid the screams, the driver pulled over and evacuated the bus about 3 pm at 52nd Street and Westminster Avenue. The non-venomous snake was retrieved and SEPTA will decide whether or not to press charges.

Police are searching for suspects wanted in a jewelry store heist in Rittenhouse Wednesday night. Time & Gold jewelry store at 19th and Chestnut got ripped off for thousands of dollars in valuables and jewels. It was a Hollywood style heist. The criminals tunneled their way in through a vacant burger joint and cleaners next to the jewelry store. They used high power tools to get through the walls and into the safe. A resurrected rail route between Philadelphia and the Lehigh Valley is among the possibilities being considered in a two-year study looking at transportation options for the rapidly growing region. The MoveLV: Long Range Transportation Plan will look for the best transportation options for the Allentown-Easton-Bethlehem region. Surveys conducted suggest demand for a major rail project. A Pennsylvania college football player was charged with stabbing his teammate with a corkscrew during a fight at a dormitory. Police said Albright College freshman Marquis Stewart, of Bethlehem, was arrested after the stabbing early Sunday. The 18-year-old was jailed on attempted homicide, aggravated assault and other charges.
