Police are investigating another home invasion in the Tacony section. The incident happened at about 3am. The intruder apparently entered through an unlocked door and confronted a teenage girl with a gun. They got away with some entertainment gear, but no one was hurt. This is the fifth home invasion in Tacony in the last week.

A frightening low funnel like cloud developed at the outdoor graduation ceremonies at Absegami High School in Galloway Township last evening. Everyone had received their diplomas as the tornado-like cloud appeared on the school's football field. Most ran for cover from the high winds, lightning, hail and rain. Former Fleetwood Mac guitarist Bob Welch is dead. Welch died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest at his home in Nashville. Bob Welch also enjoyed a solo career that included hits, Sentimental Lady in 1977 and Ebony Eyes in 1978. Welch left a suicide note and had been dealing with health issue

Archbishop Charles Chaput estimates that the Archdiocese of Philadelphia has spent more than $11 million on the ongoing clergy abuse crisis and that does not include the trial of Monsignor William Lynn. A pedestrian was struck and killed by an Amtrak Express train this morning near the Holmesburg train station. SEPTA has resumed operation of the Trenton Regional line but Amtrak is operating at reduced speeds between Philadelphia and New York. The victim has not been identified.

Teachers in Neshaminy School District are on strike for the second time this school year. The strike can only last 10 days so the school year can’t extend beyond June 30th. However, seniors were scheduled to start exams today. They will be exempt from finals because of the strike and graduate on schedule.

The 24 hour relay is underway! iRadioPhilly is a proud supporter of the American Cancer Society's Haverford Township Relay For Life. The Relay celebrates the lives of people who have battled cancer, remembers loved ones lost, and raises money to fight back.
