Revenge appears to be the motive for a murder/suicide in Voorhees yesterday. Dr. Giocondo Navek fatally shot fellow doctor Payman Houshmandpour and then shot himself. Navak believed his former colleague was responsible for his dismissal from Virtua's residency program.
George Zimmerman, the gun-toting neighborhood watch volunteer who shot Trayvon Martin was arrested and charged with second degree murder yesterday. Zimmerman faces up to life in prison.

An Argentine baby born 3 months premature and declared dead by the hospital was found alive 12 hours later in a refrigerated morgue. The baby's mother and father insisted on seeing the baby and when they opened the coffin they found the preemie whimpering and moving. The baby is progressing and has been named Luz Milagros – translation, “Miracles”.

A warehouse fire in Kensington this morning has taken the lives of two Philadelphia firefighters and two others have been injured. The five alarm blaze caused the building to collapse with firefighters inside.

Bloomfield, known to neighbors as The Old Ewing Estate, a huge historic Mail Line mansion was destroyed by a fire yesterday. The Villanova estate had 19 bedrooms, 12 and a half baths in over 22,000 square feet. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The estate served as the set for a movie called "Safe" to be released later this month. The mansion was located on S. Ithan Ave near Villanova's South Campus.
