Haverford Township is in mourning after the sudden death of a beloved police officer in the Pennsylvania suburb. According to the police department, 39-year-old William Albertus died Sunday. The seven-year veteran of the force suffered a medical emergency last week while playing ice hockey in a police league. They say Albertus died of natural causes after being hospitalized for a week. He leaves behind his wife and three young children. Services are set for this weekend.

Rockin' the Schoolhouse 2016 show
Since 2012, Haverford teachers have performed concerts to raise money for Haverford High School's BLAST committee, which organizes Haverford's Senior Prom After-Party. These concerts have raised $2,700 and collected 320 items for Philabundance.

After a Philadelphia Police officer was shot in West Philadelphia one suspect is in custody, while the gunman is still on the loose. On the 5900 block of Market St. Officer James McCullough was shot while trying to stop a robbery. McCullough was rushed to Presbyterian Hospital where he is listed in stable condition. Philadelphia Police are investigating a deadly hit and run in Kensington. The incident occurred around 9 o'clock Wednesday night at Aramingo and Lehigh Avenues. The victim, a 35-year-old man, was riding his scooter when he was struck by a silver Pontiac Aztec. The victim was dragged about 200 feet down the road underneath the SUV. The driver fled the scene. Police say a man was found shot to death inside a car parked on a West Philadelphia street overnight. Neighbors called police to the 1600 block of North Redfield Street early Tuesday because they thought the man was either asleep or dead. The car was still running when neighbors discovered the victim. Police found the 25 year old had been shot three times.

The quality of musicianship was so impressive; one forgets that some of these performers are only in sixth grade!
