The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation has drawn criticism from both sides of the Pro-Life Pro-Choice debate. Komen had decided to drop support for Planned Parenthood's breast cancer screening efforts. After outrage from legions from the Pro-Choice side, Komen reversed its decision. The reversal is drawing sharp criticism from the Pro-Life antiabortion side for caving to the pressure.

Apparently the Washington Nationals would rather see empty seats than Phillies fans in the seats of their ballpark. Forget You, Philly is the new cry from the Nationals top brass. They've named the campaign, "Take Back the Park." The Nationals plan to prevent Phillies fans from buying tickets by refusing to sell tickets to anyone who doesn't have a Washington, Maryland or Virginia address attached to their credit card. Here's an idea from a city councilwoman that would boost the revenues of the Philadelphia school district. Put advertising on school buses.
CBS 3 reported that City Councilwoman Blondell Reynolds Brown introduced a plan for what she admits would be a controversial money stream.
“If we win approval from the state, this bill will allow the city of Philadelphia to place advertisements on the back of school buses.”

The Philadelphia Eagles are bringing in former Miami Dolphins interim head coach, Todd Bowles to be the Birds defensive backs coach. Juan Castillo will remain defensive coordinator.
Bowles will be in charge of the entire secondary. Safeties coach Mike Zordich will report to under Bowles. Bowles will fill the vacancy left by Johnnie Lynn after he Eagles fired him.

Manny, Moe and Jack are getting new bosses. Pep Boys has agreed to be purchased by private investor, the Gores Group.
The Philadelphia-based auto parts and service retailer said the deal is for $15 per share, a 24 percent premium over Friday's closing price. The enterprise value of the deal is $1 billion, Pep Boys said.

Pottstown Middle School is banning it's students from wearing open top boots - including and especially Uggs. Uggs are a fashion craze with middle school age girls and the ban has created uproar among parents and students. The school says it is having a problem with students storing their cell phones inside their footwear.
One has to wonder, if the students start bringing cell phones to school in their pockets, will there be a ban on pants?

Villanova University is proposing a $200 million expansion to its campus along Lancaster Avenue that would add more housing and retail to space that is currently parking lots.
