The funeral procession for Philadelphia Police Highway Patrol Officer Brian Lorenzo closed 8th Street, Arch Street and the Ben Franklin Parkway this morning on its way to the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. Lorenzo was killed last weekend after his shift when his motorcycle was struck be a car traveling the wrong way on I 95. The driver of the car was allegedly drunk.

The Louis Freeh report was made public today. The internal investigation of Penn State's handling of Jerry Sandusky, Joe Paterno and former Penn State President Graham Spanier reveals that everybody knew of Sandusky's actions and they covered up the incidents to avoid negative publicity. Imagine finding your stolen car listed for sale on e-bay. Imagine finding it listed 42 years after it had been stolen. That's exactly what happened to Temple University alum Bob Russell who had his 1967 Austin-Healey stolen in Philadelphia in 1970 while visiting his then girlfriend Cyndy. Russell was browsing e-bay and found his car listed by a dealer in Los Angeles. With the help of Philly police, Bob Russell and wife Cyndy have their car back.

Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill is taking some heat from a North Philly minister who says Meek Mill's "Amen" is blasphemous. The Reverend Jomo K. Johnson, who is about the same age as Meek Mill, grew up listening to the same music. But Johnson says Amen goes too far, thanking God for free-wheeling sex, violence and money. Johnson is encouraging a boycott of Meek Mill's music.

A man with a gun disrupted rush hour activity around City Hall this morning. The man was spotted holding a gun and was approached by police. During the standoff, street traffic was diverted and SEPTA trains did not stop at the 15th Street stop under City Hall. The man, in his 20’s, fired a shot at police. They returned fire, wounding the man and apprehended him. No police were hurt.

The owners of the Philadelphia Eagles are getting divorced. Eagle owners Jeffrey and Christina Lurie met in the late 80's, married and bought the Eagles together in 1994. The Lurie's claim they will continue to work together as partners and the divorce will have no impact on the care and feeding of the Eagles. So no fighting over who gets the team on Sundays.

A ban on drilling in Bucks and Montgomery counties until 2018 has some Marcellus Shale region lawmakers steamed, claiming favoritism. Supporters of the ban claim the ban is only to allow time to more thoroughly study the formation and impact of potential drilling in these areas.
