The fallout from the Jerry Sandusky scandal continues as the hearing for three people charged in a cover-up begins. The three are former Penn State administrators accused of covering up complaints that Jerry Sandusky was molesting children. Former President, Graham Spanier, Vice President Gary Schultz and Athletic Director Tim Curley are being charged with perjury, obstruction of justice and child endangerment.

Snow is already a nasty four letter word this season and we have not even reached the official start of winter. Tuesday may bring another wintry mix to Philadelphia as two separate fast-moving clipper systems impact our weather. The first could produce snow changing to rain in the morning tomorrow and the second could produce some snow showers tomorrow evening. Temperatures will rise this week and on Friday, the last day of Fall the thermometer will hit 54. Downright balmy.

Protesters blocked access to the Philadelphia immigration office yesterday demanding a halt to deportations. They blocked two driveways at the detention center of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. About 40 protesters hoped to stop vans that transport immigrant detainees to prisons. The 2 hour standoff ended without incident. Protests are part of a national movement of organizers growing impatient with President Obama’s failure to enact immigration reform.

There was a shooting over the weekend outside a Meek Mill hosted event in Wilmington Delaware that left four people wounded. Just before 2 am Sunday, gunfire erupted in the parking lot of MoodSwing Nightclub Lounge on the Kirkwood Highway. Multiple gunshots in a crowd of over 600 people hit four victims and several cars. None of the injuries were life threatening.

Funeral arrangements have been announced for former South African President, Nelson Mandela. Mandela spent 27 years in prison, convicted of treason by the white minority government. He was released in 1990 and led his country out of Apartheid negotiating a peaceful end to segregation while urging forgiveness for the white government that had kept him in prison. Legendary boxer Joe Frazier, who made Philadelphia his home, will be memorialized in a 9 foot statue to be placed in the stadium complex area in South Philly. The Art Commission approved sculptor Stephen Layne's design yesterday. The pose is from one of Frazier's most storied moments, his knockdown of Muhammad Ali with a left hook in the 15th round of the "Fight of the Century" in 1971. Joe Frazier was the first to beat Ali.
