The Phillies have delivered on the season of big promise. The pitching staff that graced the cover of Sports Illustrated at the beginning of the season has delivered plenty of wins despite injuries. And the Phillies hitters have delivered runs even though there have been slumps. Philadelphia's WHAT (1340) has been sold for $475,000. In 2007, Marconi Broadcasting Company had bought the 1,000-watt fulltime station Inner City Broadcasting and began programming music. Marconi created innovative music programming targeting a diverse group of listeners unserved or underserved by FM or AM radio stations. Philadelphia radio station WHAT-AM 1340 has changed its programming to a Spanish language music format. Since August 1st, the station has been silent prompting listeners to wonder what happened to the music on WHAT.

Usually Philadelphia sports fans are labeled with the ugliest behavior. However, in London, Ontario Canada where the Flyers played the Red Wings on Thursday night a fan threw a banana onto the ice at Flyers winger Wayne Simmonds who is black - one of the few black players in the NHL.

The producers of TV' Jersey Shore, 495 Productions, was expecting to get a $420K tax credit in exchange for producing the show in the state of New Jersey back in 2009. However, legislators from both parties have balked at paying it, and now Republican Governor Chris Christie has officially withdrawn the commitment.

Quarterback Michael Vick was knocked from the game and Jeremy Maclin sat out a few plays in the Philadelphia Eagles loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
