Construction will begin soon on Mormon Temple to be located at Logan Square in 2014. This Spring, workers will begin forming the 60,000 square foot granite clad landmark topped with the Angel Moroni 200 feet above 18th and Vine.

Quarterback Michael Vick was knocked from the game and Jeremy Maclin sat out a few plays in the Philadelphia Eagles loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Vick left in the 3rd quarter after a blow to the head after releasing a pass. Vick was being tackled when his head slammed into Eagles Lineman Todd Herremans. Sometime in the next three months, state lawmakers will begin formally considering a bill that would make Philadelphia finally deal with its 100,000-plus backlog of tax-delinquent properties.

Philadelphia has more tax delinquent properties per parcel than any other big city in the country.

The Barnes Foundation museum on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway will officially open May 19, becoming only the second home of the remarkable collection of impressionist and early modernist art in the foundation's 89-year history

Hurricane Irene Damages Atlantic City Casino Revenues

Hurricane Irene caused minimal structural damage to Atlantic City's casinos. But its revenue numbers have taken a huge hit dropping 19.8 percent, or $59.6 million from August last year.

Other factors adding to the hurricane-forced closure of the casinos include a weak economy and fierce competition from Pennsylvania casinos, which remained open during the hurricane.
