The federal judge who temporarily stopped New Jersey from allowing legalized sports betting last weekend has set a court date for the state and the professional sports leagues and NCAA to argue whether the ban should be extended. Students arriving at a troubled Philadelphia charter high school Walter D. Palmer High School, Monday morning were told to go home, and informed that the school will be closing for good. Some parents got "robo" calls last night telling them that the school in Frankford, would be closed and that they shouldn't send their children there Monday. Four Edison police officers have been indicted on charges that they conspired to retaliate against an officer from North Brunswick because he arrested one of the Edison officer's relatives for drunken driving. The four Edison officers — Michael Dotro, Victor Aravena, William Gesell and Brian Favretto — all face conspiracy and official misconduct charges, along with other individual counts. A city council committee has signed off on a sweeping overhaul of how Philadelphia handles large vacant buildings. The changes were spurred by the deaths of firefighters Robert Neary and Daniel Sweeney in April 2012 battling a blaze that had begun in a vacant warehouse. Take your dog for a walk, and help other dogs with every step. Dog owners have been downloading the FREE new app and it tracks their walk. The FREE app is called "WoofTrax – Walk for a Dog." The more you use it, the more money goes to an animal shelter or rescue group of your choice. WoofTrax donates money it gets from sponsors and advertisements. It tracks usage by how many walks you take, not by distance. So far, the app has donated $10,000 to shelters nationwide.

Two armed men robbed a Chickie's & Pete's in Drexel Hill, Delaware County Sunday morning. The gunmen entered from a side door and walked right to the manager's office, demanding money while putting a gun to her head. State lawmakers passed legislation Thursday that could allow legal sports betting in New Jersey to move forward. The Assembly passed a measure that was overwhelmingly approved earlier this week in the state Senate.
