The remainder of the football season at Central Bucks West High School, in Bucks County, was canceled today. All members of the varsity and JV coaching staffs have been suspended pending further investigation. A city council committee has signed off on a sweeping overhaul of how Philadelphia handles large vacant buildings. The changes were spurred by the deaths of firefighters Robert Neary and Daniel Sweeney in April 2012 battling a blaze that had begun in a vacant warehouse. Among the changes called for in the bill are better systems to make sure the large vacant properties are secured and inspected with information on the properties readily available in a database. Take your dog for a walk, and help other dogs with every step. Dog owners have been downloading the FREE new app and it tracks their walk. The FREE app is called "WoofTrax – Walk for a Dog." The more you use it, the more money goes to an animal shelter or rescue group of your choice. WoofTrax donates money it gets from sponsors and advertisements. It tracks usage by how many walks you take, not by distance. So far, the app has donated $10,000 to shelters nationwide.

An ongoing email pornography scandal in Harrisburg that's cost multiple people their jobs, leads to the suspension of a Supreme Court Justice. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court has temporarily placed Judge Seamus McCaffery on paid leave following his admission to sending and receiving hundreds of sexually explicit emails with members of the Office of the Attorney General. Two armed men robbed a Chickie's & Pete's in Drexel Hill, Delaware County Sunday morning. The gunmen entered from a side door and walked right to the manager's office, demanding money while putting a gun to her head. After she brought them to the safe, the suspects reportedly stole over $16,000 as well as night receipts. One of the gunmen locked the manager, along with three other employees in a freezer. State lawmakers passed legislation Thursday that could allow legal sports betting in New Jersey to move forward. The Assembly passed a measure that was overwhelmingly approved earlier this week in the state Senate. It's aimed at helping the state's foundering casino and racetrack industries, and would partially repeal prohibitions against sports wagering in the state. A spokesman for Gov. One lane of the Eastbound Schuylkill Expressway is now getting by after a fatal, multi-vehicle accident near the Montgomery off-ramp Thursday morning. Authorities say at least one person is dead. There’s no word yet on other injuries. The Martin Luther King Drive is taking most of the Schuylkill bailout and the Kelly Drive is also quickly backing up.

State lawmakers passed a measure that could clear the way for sports betting in New Jersey. The bill is the latest in a years-long effort to authorize sports wagering, a push that still faces legal challenges. The state Senate passed the measure on Tuesday. Democratic State Sen. Police are investigating after they say a man was shot four times in Northeast Philadelphia Monday night at the 7000 block of Castor Avenue. Philadelphia Police say the man was shot in the leg, arm, shoulder and suffered a graze wound to the head. He was taken to Aria Health Torresdale Campus in critical condition. An investigation is underway.
