Tuesday, May 31st marks the 3rd Annual "One Day Without Sound." It's a nationwide challenge designed to increase awareness about hearing loss. On "One Day Without Sound," Shawn Veight, a hearing instrument specialist with the Miracle Ear Foundation and others are urging people to wear a pair of earplugs or sound reducing headphones to realize how much we take sound for granted. And he hopes people will do something to prevent hearing loss.

On Tuesday, the East Pikeland Township Police announced the arrest of a man for theft saying he took money from a daycare that he was placed in charge of. Steve Hughes, 47, of Phoenixville, was a member of the Kimberton Fire Company, and was placed in charge of the ABC 123 Learning Center, a daycare that is owned by the fire company. According to a recent report from Wallethub, Philadelphia is among the worst places to start a career, coming in 142 out of 150 U-S cities. The study looked at 17 variables including employment opportunities, unemployment, and cost of living. You might not want to end your career in Philadelphia either. Another Wallethub study finds that the city is among the worst to retire. The research found the best city to start out is Salt Lake City, Utah.

Authorities in Montgomery County say a 67-year-old man was fatally shot Sunday afternoon. Police responded to reports of domestic disturbance at a home near 6th Street and East Montgomery Avenue in North Wales. Arriving officers found the victim dead in the garage with a gunshot wound to the torso. A suspect is in custody.

Wilmington Police say a 15 year old boy was shot on the 900 block of Clifford Brown Walk on Thursday. The young man was taken to Christiana Hospital and died as a result of his injuries. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact Detective McKenzie Kirlin at 302-576-3653 or the department’s Homicide Hotline at 302-576-3939. School officials say the maintenance worker who was injured when a boiler exploded at a school in West Oak Lane has died. It was about four months ago when the boiler at the Franklin Edmonds Elementary School exploded while 61-year-old Christopher Trakimas was working on it. He suffered 3rd degree burns and other injuries as a result, and he died yesterday at Einstein Hospital.

A spokesman says Governor Wolf will sign a bill headed to his desk that is intended to protect the privacy of 9-1-1- callers. The bill sent to the governor Tuesday provides that in response to a Right-To-Know request, release of the name, telephone number and home address of people who call 911 would be prohibited in most circumstances. Police in Delaware County are asking for the public's help. They are looking for a man wanted for snapping photos of a woman without her knowledge. Surveillance video, from The Pretzel Factory on 69th Street, shows the man taking upskirt pictures of an unsuspecting woman as she stood in line. The victim finally realized what was happening. She slapped the man and he then took off.
