SPCA Rescue Dogs Available, North Philly Prison Cell Exhibition, Hatfield Car Jack Assault Suspect |

The Pennsylvania SPCA is putting out the word that some of the more than two dozen dogs that were rescued last Friday in Delaware County are now up for adoption.
Twenty eight Shepherds and Shepherd mixes were taken from the Sixth Angel Shepherd Rescue in Marcus Hook after SPCA officers found the dogs living in a house filled with animal waste. Many of the dogs are now available for 50 percent of their current adoption fee.

A New Jersey grand jury has refused to indict the woman known as "tanning mom" who was accused of endangering her daughter after she allegedly brought her to a tanning salon. 44-year-old Patricia Krentcil of Nutley, NJ was arrested last April for violating the state law banning use of tanning salons for children under 14. The verdict is in for former Philadelphia Police lieutenant Highway Patrolman Jonathan Josey. Judge Patrick Dugan handed down a verdict of not guilty for the sole charge of simple assault in the non-jury bench trial. Josey was accused of punching 39-year-old Aida Guzman in the face at 5th and Lehigh during celebrations after the Puerto Rican Day Parade on September 30th. New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is signing the Internet Gambling bill today. According to the bill, all gambling equipment has to be housed in an Atlantic City casino. Internet gambling revenues will be taxed at 15% and it is predicted that within 5 years, internet gambling revenue could reach $1.2 billion.

An accident at a sugar plant in Bucks County has left a man dead today. The temporary worker was on a catwalk and fell into a vat of sugar at the CSC Sugar plant on Roebling Road, Fairless Hills. He was missing for about an hour before staff found him. Falls Township police are trying to determine how he fell into the sugar vat. There is no indication of foul play. CSC Sugar refines cane and supplies to Snapple, Turkey Hill, Ben and Jerry's and Wawa for their products.

Authorities say they are investigating what they are calling the "suspicious death" of a two-month-old baby that was discovered Sunday morning in Upper Moreland, Montgomery County. According to authorities, the infant was found around 9:30 a.m. at the Wellington Apartments on Horsham Road. Officials aren't releasing many details at this time. An autopsy is expected to be conducted on Monday.

Today the Vatican confirmed that Philadelphia will be the site of World Family Day. Archbishop Charles Chaput (pictured) expects a high energy convocation drawing tens of thousands of visitors to town. The gathering happens once every three years.
