Obama Gun Violence Plans, Kathleen Kane Sworn In, $50.5 Billion Hurricane Sandy Bill Passed

President Obama is scheduled to announce his proposals for curbing gun violence just before noon today. The package is expected to include legislation and executive action. Congressman Chaka Fattah says legislative proposals will include a ban on assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition clips but he thinks the president won’t wait for congress to act on other issues.

5-year-old Nailla Robinson was found early this morning hiding in a playground in Upper Darby. She was discovered by a Good Samaritan, 27-year-old Nelson Mandela Myers, on his way to 69th Street Terminal to get a bus to work. She cried out for help and was unharmed but was only wearing a t-shirt in the cold damp night. Five year old Na'illa Robinson has been found. And she is safe. The girl abducted from Bryant Elementary School in West Philadelphia was found this morning on a playground in Upper Darby wearing only a t-shirt. State Police have issued an Amber Alert for a missing 5-year-old girl, Nailla Robinson, who was abducted from Bryant Elementary School in West Philadelphia Monday morning. A little before 9 a.m., an adult dressed in Muslim-style clothing walked into the school and signed in at the front desk, but her name was not legible. An Amber Alert has been issued by the Philadelphia Police for Nailla Robinson, age 5. She was abducted from Bryant School, 6001 Cedar Ave, in West Philadelphia. There is a $10,000 reward for information.

A South Jersey man is under arrest after an early morning brawl in Old City Sunday morning in which he shot at another man. Officers responded to the shot and found a crowd fighting in the middle of 2nd Street between Market and Chestnut at 2:30 am. When they attempted to apprehend a suspect a gun fell out of his waistband. The clergy sex abuse trial begins today in the case of a priest and lay teacher at St Jerome's Parish in Northeast Philadelphia. Both men are charged with assaulting the same boy who was a 5th and 6th grader in 1999. Father Charles Englehardt, now 66 years old and the teacher, Bernard Shero deny all allegations in this case.

One person was found dead after emergency crews located the wreckage of a small plane that crashed in Dover, Delaware on Sunday evening. The wreckage is believed to be that of a single engine plane that was reported missing when it vanished off radar shortly after 7 p.m. The pilot, who was the only occupant of the plane, was killed in the crash.

Two women have been arrested for prostitution after a police investigation into two Chinatown massage parlors. Undercover Vice officers conducted the sting at the two establishments located at 209 N 11th Street and 1010 Cherry Street. Shun Yu Jin, 48, of Flushing, NY, and Ji Young Kim, 30, of Philadelphia were both arrested and charged with criminal solicitation and prostitution. The flu outbreak is now considered widespread in Pennsylvania with 22 deaths related to the flu this season. The death of a baby in the Lehigh Valley was blamed on the virus. The New Jersey Department of Health says 2 more deaths are being blamed on the flu outbreak. An 8 month old boy from Camden and a 14 year old boy from Ocean County have died.
