Suspect in Custody in CHOP Murder; Penn Student Dies After Fall; Basement of Horror Murder Charges

Philadelphia Police now have a person of interest in custody in the strangulation and burning murder of Dr. Melissa Ketunuti, a CHOP Pediatrician, found Monday in her Center City home. The 37-year-old man police are calling a 'person of interest' is said to be from Levitown, PA, Bucks County. Police say he appears on surveillance video from the neighborhood near Ketunuti's home. The Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole has reconsidered their vote and has rescinded parole for former University of Pennsylvania economics professor Rafael Robb. The board had initially followed guidelines and voted to release him January 28th after serving 6 years of a 5-10 year sentence for bludgeoning his wife Ellen to death. Philadelphia Police have been frustrated so far in the strangulation and burning of CHOP Dr. Melissa Ketunuti. No suspects and no leads reported. Her boyfriend, Surya Mundluru is a doctor from New York. He has been ruled out as a suspect. Also, the dog walker who discovered the body has been ruled out. The 35 year old Pediatrician was strangled and discovered bound by the wrist and ankles, and on fire in her basement. There is a $20,000 reward.

Police are investigating the murder of a pediatrician whose body was found tied up and set on fire inside her Center City home Monday. Authorities say firefighters responded at 12:30 p.m. to a report of a fire at home in the 1700 block of Naudain Street. Philadelphia Police are investigating a gruesome discovery. Police found a woman bound and burned to death inside her Center City home today. The woman's body was found by her dog-walker early this afternoon on the 1700 block of Naudain Street. She was pronounced dead at the scene. No suspects yet and police are investigating leads.
