Convicted kidnapper and rapist, Ariel Castro is dead, an apparent suicide, after he was found hanging in his prison cell last night. The Cleveland man had been sentenced to life plus 1,000 years on August 1st for kidnapping three women 10 years ago and holding them as slaves until they were rescued this year.

No free lunch for students in the Willingboro, New Jersey school district if they are not on the Free and Reduced lunch program. Kids without money will go hungry for the day. Some parents don’t like the new system of accountability, but the new rule will save about $50,000 as many parents and students had abused the Free Lunch program in the past.

Philadelphia real estate developer, Carl Dranoff won approval for his plan to build a 20 story residential tower at the entrance to Schuylkill River Park. Despite resistance from the adjoining Community Garden just 8 feet from the proposed structure, Dranoff now has all the approvals he needs to begin building One Riverside.
