Today marks the eleventh anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks on US soil. President Obama and the frist lady will pause for a moment of silence on the White House lawn and attend a memorial service at the Pentagon. Vice President Biden will visit the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, PA. A memorial to Philadelphians who died in the 9/11 attacks was dedicated today in Schuylkill River Park.

Facing a $12 million deficit, the Bristol Township School District cut where it could, taking aim at transportation and cutting more than $2 million out of its bus service.
Complaints of overcrowding and dangerous conditions on school buses have since spread like wildfire.
On Facebook, there are two different parent groups that have formed, and complaints about busing are common.

The Philadelphia District Attorney's office has charged blogger Joshua Scott Albert with three counts each of criminal solicitation to commit murder, terroristic threats and harassment. Each count is for a Facebook page he created that either called for the murder of a top law enforcement official or supported alleged cop killers. Fox is reporting two Philadelphia City Council employees are accused of driving city owned vehicles while drunk. Sergeant-at-Arms Rodney Williams and Council President, Darrell Clarke?s receptionist, Robin Jones were arrested early Saturday morning in Spring Garden driving separate city vehicles. Both were charged with DUI and Clarke planned to fire both today.

Two city employees are under arrest on alleged DUI charges after an early morning crash Saturday involving city owned vehicles. The employees are Robin Jones, an aide to Darrell Clarke the President of the City Council, and Sergeant-at-arms Rodney Williams. Jones lost control of her city-owned vehicle and crashed into a wall at 13th and Hamilton around 3 am. She called Williams who came to the scene in his city-owned vehicle. St. Joseph University has purchased the Cardinal's mansion from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia for $10 million. The residence has been the home for Philadelphia archbishops since it was purchased in the 1930's by Dennis Cardinal Dougherty for $115,000. The 13,000 sq-ft house has 16 rooms, a gardener's cottage, 6 car garage, and sits on 8.9 acres along City Ave. Archbishop Charles Chaput announced he'd sell the large house last January and will live in an apartment at St. Charles Seminary. A person of interest is in custody related to the bomb threat hoax that turned a plane around at Philadelphia International airport. He will face a federal judge today in Philadelphia. The labor dispute between Philadelphia and the firefighters' union is heading into its fourth year. For a second time, the city appealed an arbitration panel's decision this June, which ruled in favor of firefighters. They haven't had a contract since 2009. Mayor Nutter's Chief of Staff Everette Gillison says any claim that the city is disrespectful of the men and women in uniform is just plain false. A US Airways flight bound for Dallas, TX was diverted back to Philadelphia International Airport this morning after a telephone tip was received by police that a passenger on the plane may have explosives. That call was later deemed a hoax, but not until after the plane returned to Philadelphia and SWAT stormed the passenger cabin.
