Jazz Legend Dave Brubeck Passes Away

Dave Brubeck, a jazz legend, passed away today, missing his 92nd birthday by a day. He passed away due to heart failure in Connecticut. He began playing classical piano at a young age, finding jazz during college. He switched his studies from veterinary medicine to music and went on to become the jazz great we know today.

The EZ Pass on your windshield will be getting smaller. The EZ Pass Group is introducing a new EZ pass transponder that is about half the size of the original. Subscribers will begin to get the new transponder near the end of their 8 to 10 year life. The smaller units cost the toll agencies about half the price of the old ones.

Police say they have located a 13-year-old girl from Radnor who went missing after reportedly meeting up with a man she met online. Savanna Marie MacMullet was found at a bus station in Washington D.C. with Ashley Ryan Hareford, a 20-year-old man from Virginia. MacMullett's family claims she created a secret Facebook page. Officals stress parents should note the warning signs.

Police have found the missing 13-year-old Radnor, PA girl safe and sound in Washington, DC and have arrested the man she was with. Federal marshals followed several anonymous tips and found Savanna Marie MacMullet and 20-year-old Ashley Ryan Hareford at a bus station around 7 pm. They took a discount bus from Philadelphia to DC and investigators were waiting for them. Hareford is facing charges of corruption of a minor. Radnor Township Police are searching for a missing 13 year old feared to be with a 20 year old man already wanted for corruption of minors. Savanna Marie MacMullett was last seen around 4 pm Monday in Garrett Hill. MacMullett met 20 year old Ashley Ryan Hareford on Facebook. Anyone with information is urged to call Radnor Police at 610-688-0503.

UPDATE: Savanna MacMullett as been found and Ashley Hareford arrested at a bus stop in Washington, DC.

A public meeting scheduled this evening regarding the Paulsboro train derailment has been postponed by officials. The public forum held at Paulsboro High School was going to involve representatives of several different agencies. The meeting was pushed back because residents who decided to stay in the evacuation zone are still being ordered to stay inside their homes due to high levels of vinyl chloride in the air as a result of the train derailment. Former Phillie Lenny Dykstra has been sentenced to six and a half months in prison for hiding possessions that were supposed to be included in his bankruptcy filing, World Series balls, bats that Dykstra sold off for his personal gain. He’ll serve his time concurrently with the time he is already serving for grand theft auto.

City Council is moving toward lowering the interest rates and penalties paid by tax delinquents, in hopes of getting more of them to pay up. The measure was approved in Committee and goes to the full council for a vote later this month. Much of the money owed to the city has been owed for decades and will likely never be recovered.

Philadelphia's legal and political community is mourning the death of Common Pleas judge Adam Beloff, whose body was found at his Ventnor, NJ home on Saturday after an apparent suicide. Ventnor police on Saturday responded to a call from the judge's home on Wellington Avenue and found him dead at the scene. Beloff, was serving his first term as a Common Pleas judge, presiding over cases in the criminal division.
