Charges for Boston Bus Crash; Large Teen Fight Center City; Croydon Mansion Arson Arrests

Charges have been filed in Boston against a bus driver who crashed his bus into a highway overpass in February. The crash injured 35 students and chaperones on the way home to the Philadelphia area following a field trip to Harvard university. Massachusetts officials announced today that 66-year-old Samuel Jackson of Philadelphia will face criminal charges of operating negligently to endanger. During the Greater Atlantic City Chamber of Commerce gathering at the Sheraton Atlantic City Convention Center Hotel, Liza Cartmell, Executive Director Atlantic City Alliance, showed off the new design for the “Do AC” marketing campaign.

A dozen free doughnuts every week for a year. That's the reward Krispy Kreme will give to Dr. Timothy Folkomer for being the first in line for today’s grand opening of its newest store in Havertown’s Manoa Shopping Center. Folkomer is a retired geologist and teacher who has camped out at new Krispy Kreme stores before. He donates most of his weekly free confections to a homeless shelter and other charities.

A federal judge in Philadelphia today hears arguments on whether to dismiss a class action lawsuit accusing the NFL of hiding the risks of concussions. Players want their case to remain in federal court, where they can use the rules of discovery to get a look at NFL files to find out what the league knew about the effects of repetitive brain injuries. Dozens Ticketed on Kelly Drive; Made in America Coming Back; No Foul Play in Revel Deaths

Dozens of motorists were ticketed on Monday morning as Philadelphia Police conducted a major speeding crackdown along Kelly Drive. Police setup along the winding river side road just after the morning rush and pulled over anyone going over 50 mph in the 35 mph zone. After it was all said and done they handed out some 50 tickets. The dates for this year's Made in America Festival have been announced. After last year's successful Labor Day Weekend concert, Jay-Z will be bringing his curated concert festival back to Philadelphia for a second year. The show will be held August 31st - September 1st along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.

Funeral Arrangements for Capt. Michael Goodwin, Background Check Expansion, Priests Removed

Funeral arrangements for veteran Philadelphia fireman Captain Michael Goodwin have been announced. Goodwin died battling a blaze in a Queen Village fabric store. Tuesday at noon there will be a memorial service at City Hall honoring Goodwin and two firefighters who died last year in a warehouse collapse. Viewings will be held Wednesday evening from 5 to 9 and Thursday morning from 9 to 10:45 at the Givnish Funeral Home on Academy Road.
