Hamilton Crash Kills Infant, PHL Terminal F Expansion Unveiled

A 28 day old baby boy that was injured in a crash in Hamilton Township Wednesday afternoon has died. Two females and a five-year-old girl were also injured in the collision. A GMC Sierra truck struck the passenger side of a Hyundai Elantra that was making a left turn onto Whatley Road. An investigation is ongoing and any witnesses to the crash are asked to contact Hamilton Police.

Delaware State Trooper Shot in Wilmington; Malvern Murderer Denied Bail

A State Trooper was shot in the arm in Wilmington, Delaware. The 44-year-old trooper has been taken to Christiana Hospital Trauma Center. He is listed in stable condition. Delaware State Police, Wilmington Police, and New Castle County Police are on scene. It happened at 4 p.m. in the area of North Market Street and West 24th Street. An area of 10 blocks has been shut down due to the investigation. The suspect remains at large. There is no information on how the shooting occurred.Read More

PA Tranportation Gas Tax, Waterfront High Rise Gains Approval

It looks like the PA state Senate will consider a major transportation spending proposal now that the House signaled that it would support it. Governor Tom Corbett supports the bill that would raise gasoline taxes and motorist fees to pump an extra $2.3 billion into roads, bridges and transit systems. If passed, it would be the second largest tax increase in PA history.

Spring City Minister Suspended, Arrests Made In Olney Cat Set On Fire

A Methodist minister has been suspended 30 days for officiating his son's same-sex wedding. Pastor Frank Schaefer was found guilty Monday of violating the United Methodist Church law after he officiated his son's same-sex marriage in Massachusetts. At the end of those 30 days, Schaefer may still have to surrender his ministerial duties if he doesn't reconsider his support of the LGBT community.

Arrest Made in Malvern Murder; Teen Thrown from Car in Wayne; 150th Ann. of Gettysburg Address

Police have made an arrest in the the murder of a Malvern, PA man. The Chester County District Attorney's Office has identified the suspect as 24-year-old Merritt Dudas. They say he is a longtime friend and neighbor of the victim, 21-year-old Drew Ferguson. Ferguson was found shot dead in his apartment Monday, upstairs in his grandparent's garage on 222 Miner Street. Authorities believe it happened during a dispute over drugs. Dudas used a handgun belonging to his girlfriend's father.Read More

The US Military OROS-3 mission is set to launch tonight from NASA's Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia between 7:30 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. EST. The Minotaur 1 rocket will be carrying a record 29 satellites into orbit.

Speed Sensors Trigger Light on Kelly Drive, Cira Center Pong Game a Guinness Record

Motorists who drive too fast on Kelly Drive will now trigger the red light at Fountain Green. The city has installed sensors in the road in hopes of slowing traffic down from its average 55 mph, to the actual speed limit, 35 mph. The speed sensors are about a half mile north of the Girard Avenue Bridge. Previously, the light would only turn red if a car was waiting to turn onto Kelly Drive or a pedestrian pushed the crosswalk button.

The co-owner of a Philadelphia-area restaurant chain will serve time behind bars for his role in a multimillion-dollar tax evasion scheme. A federal judge sentenced 75-year-old Robert Mattei to 15 months in prison on Monday. He had pleaded guilty to conspiracy, tax evasion and bank fraud. Authorities say Mattei and four co-defendants who ran the Nifty Fifty’s eateries engaged in a long-running scam to avoid paying taxes.

Princeton University to make meningitis vaccine available; Frank Rizzo Jr. Changes Political Party

Princeton University officials decided Monday that it will make a meningitis vaccine, that hasn't been approved in the U.S., available on campus to help stop the spread of the disease. Doses of the vaccine for type b meningococcal bacteria will be available in December and February for undergrads, graduates students living in dorms, and university employees with medical conditions that make them susceptible to meningitis.
