Pennsylvania is spending $1-million in taxpayer dollars to advertise the voter ID law, even though the future of the law is uncertain. The voter ID ads tell voters to "show it." $700,000 in tax payer dollars is being spent on TV ads, nearly $200,000 on radio and the rest on targeted print ads. But voting rights advocates say the ads are having a negative impact. Many people are confused, and are worried they’re going to have to produce some type of voter ID for this election. The Commonwealth has earmarked another million dollars for further education on voter ID law before the spring primary.

Longtime Traffic Reporter John Brown has retired after 44 years in broadcasting, including three decades dedicated to traffic in the Philadelphia market. His familiar voice guided millions of listeners through countless traffic jams. John Brown’s radio career ended at 5:52 Thursday evening. Reflecting, Brown says over the last 34 years Delaware Valley traffic has gotten a lot worse, Philadelphia drivers are crazy when it snows or rains, and he will miss working with a lot of the nice people he’s met through the years.

A New Jersey man has been indicted on charges of running a male prostitution ring. The attorney general’s office said Thursday that 40-year-old Marc A. Branch faces first-degree human trafficking and sexual assault charges as well as other counts. Authorities arrested Branch in October 2012. Prosecutors say he was allegedly operating a male prostitution ring from his apartment in Ventnor, where he allegedly gave narcotics to young men, including at least one minor, and prostituted them to male clients.
