FEMA Only Giving 2nd Doses, Other Appts. Canceled; Front Door Stolen; Philly FIFA World Cup 2026

Philadelphia's mass vaccination clinic at the Pennsylvania Convention Center will only be administering second doses for the next 3 weeks. The FEMA-run site will be giving second doses of the Pfizer vaccine to those who received their first dose at the clinic the past few weeks and scheduled an appointment for their second shot then. Walk-ups will not be given a shot at this time. FEMA says they hope to have the Johnson & Johnson one-dose vaccine in a few weeks by April 12.

Two North Carolina men are accused of raping, drugging, and robbing a Bucks County woman who was found dead in her Miami hotel room last week. Surveillance footage shows 21-year-old Evoire Collier and 24-year-old Dorian Taylor entering the lobby of the Albion Hotel in South Beach with 24-year-old Christine Englehardt of Richboro around 1 a.m. Thursday, 3/18. Philadelphia Police chased a female suspect into New Jersey on Monday night, 3/22, after a shooting and carjacking. It happened around 7 p.m. on the 5600 block of Pentridge Street in Philadelphia's Kingsessing neighborhood. A 28-year-old man was sitting in his car. It happened on the 200 block of Montana Street. 45-year-old Robert Easley is charged with attempted rape, aggravated assault, and sexual assault-related offenses. PECO pulled the plug on around 80 street lights in downtown Narberth, Montgomery County, after they noticed the borough had been receiving free electricity for 20 years. PECO discovered a metering and billing issue in October 2020 and then cut the power. The lights are owned and operated by Narberth Borough. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is updating its social distancing guidance for schools. It is now saying that students can sit 3 feet apart while in classrooms, instead of 6 feet as previously recommended. It points to new studies out Friday, 3/19, that found there was little difference in transmission levels between sitting 6 feet apart or 3 feet apart.
