Philadelphia Police are investigating after seven people were shot and injured outside of a social club on Friday night, 3/26. It happened around 8 p.m. at the Golf and Social Club on the 1000 block of Delaware Avenue in Fishtown. It started as an altercation inside the club that spilled outside. A mother of six children from Lancaster County, PA, was shot and killed during a road rage incident on I-95 in North Carolina on Thursday morning, 3/25. It happened just before noon in the southbound lanes of I-95 just north of Lumberton, Robeson County, near the South Carolina border. 47-year-old Julie Eberly of Manheim, Pennsylvania was headed on vacation with her husband Ryan Eberly. SEPTA will be hiring 60 unarmed security guards to help secure parts of the Market-Frankford Line. There has been a rise in attacks in stations along that line. Posting guards will hopefully quell some of that activity and provide a safer environment for SEPTA workers and customers. Guards will be in place in late March or early April. There will also be a new vulnerable population action team to address homelessness, addiction, and mental illness.

Opening Day for the Philadelphia Phillies is only a week away on April 1 vs the Atlanta Braves. This will be the first time that fans will be allowed back in the stands since October 2019. Current coronavirus COVID-19 restrictions limit attendance to 8,800 fans. That limit will be the same for the first 19 games and will be reevaluated for future games. Clementon Park and Splash World in Camden County, New Jersey, has been sold at auction as an entire property and the new owners plan to reopen the amusement park. According to Capitol Recovery Group (CRG), which arranged the sale, the whole property sold for $2.3 million at an online auction on Wednesday, 3/24. A former Lehigh University student has been sentenced to seven to 20 years in state prison after he admitted to poisoning his roommate with a heavy metal in an attempt to kill him. 24-year-old Yukai Yang pled guilty to the attempted murder of Juwan Royal. All other charges were dropped as part of a plea deal. Yang will be deported back to China after he serves his sentence.
