Philadelphia Police chased a female suspect into New Jersey on Monday night, 3/22, after a shooting and carjacking. It happened around 7 p.m. on the 5600 block of Pentridge Street in Philadelphia's Kingsessing neighborhood. A 28-year-old man was sitting in his car. The female suspect got in the car, struggled with the man, and shot him once in the back. She then stole the car. The man was taken to Penn Presbyterian Hospital where he is in critical condition. Philadelphia police spotted the suspect driving the man's Chevy Equinox and gave chase. She led police into New Jersey. She eventually lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a guard rail and utility pole near mile marker 38 on the Atlantic City Expressway. She was placed under arrest. A weapon was recovered. Her identity has not been released.

Also on Monday evening, before this incident, she had attempted to steal a parked car on the 1900 block of South Ithan Street in Kingsessing. The owner stopped her. She fired at him four times and missed. She then fled.

A father and his two children were injured on Sunday, 3/21, when the entire chair they were sitting in fell from the chairlift at Camelback Mountain in the Poconos. It happened around 4 p.m. on the high-speed Sullivan Express lift. Eyewitnesses say that the lift stopped and began to sway. Suddenly, the chair with the three family members popped off the lift cable and fell about 15-feet to the ground. The ski patrol arrived quickly to assist them. They were taken to the hospital, no word on their conditions. The ski lift is currently closed. "Camelback Resort is working with the appropriate state authorities to investigate yesterday's incident involving the Sullivan Lift. The health and safety of our guests and associates is and remains our number one priority," said a spokesperson for the ski resort.

The Philadelphia District Attorney's Office announced charges against five individuals for their roles in deed fraud. The suspects are accused of illegally transferring properties in North and West Philadelphia. "We uncovered a total of 11 properties that have been stolen by the perpetrators after forging the deeds into their names or another person's names, from both living and deceased property owners," DOA Economic Crimes Unity Assistant Supervisor Kimberly Esack said. The suspects will be arraigned on a number of charges including theft, forgery and conspiracy. This was a joint investigation with the Philadelphia Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit dating back to 2019.
