Fire Breaks Out In Logan; Hit-And-Run Driver Arrested; Gov. Wolf Condemns Trumps Immigration Law

Philadelphia Firefighters are now investigating a fire that took place in the early morning hours on Sunday. The fire broke out on the 4500 block of North Bouvier Street at around 5 a.m. in the Logan section of Philadelphia. The fire spread to two adjacent houses and damaged them as well, but the home where the fire broke was vacant. Firefighters are still investigating and looking into a possible cause that started the fire.

According to a local Syrian man, family members who arrived on a flight from Doha, Qatar, at Philadelphia International Airport this morning were briefly detained by Customs and Border Protection officials and then sent back on a return flight. Joseph Assali of Allentown says his six family members from Syria, which included two brothers, their two wives, and two children, arrived on a Qatar Airways flight at 7:25 a.m. Saturday. The State of Pennsylvania ran it's first assessment check of Philadelphia School Districts buildings in nearly 15 years and has identified nearly 12,000 repairs that need to be done to the schools that could cost up to $5 billion to fix. Officials stated that close to three-quarters of the city's public schools are in poor condition due to delayed maintenance on the issues. The Flyers were able to seal another victory Thursday night against the Maple Leafs beating them 2-1. Wayne Simmonds scored early on in the game to put a point up for the Flyers, and were tied with the Maple Leafs throughout the game. Federal investigators have now stated that a relaxed safety culture between the construction crew and Amtrak played a key role in the Amtrak train crash that killed two construction workers last April. Investigators stated that planning and communication failures led to the Amtrak train colliding into the backhoe that was on the tracks. Police are now investigating after an explosion of a manhole injured a Montgomery County woman on Thursday morning. It happened near Ardmore and Lancaster Avenues in Montgomery County just after 6 am. Police say that the explosion happened underground, causing the manhole lid to blow off, which then hit the 50-year-old woman in the ankle. Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback Carson Wentz has now hired a quarterback coach to help him with his mechanics over the offseason. Wentz has hired Adam Dedeaux from the training organization 3DQB. Dedeaux is a former USC baseball player, as well as assistant coach, and has trained quarterbacks such as Tom Brady and Drew Brees.
