Bill Cosby Leaves Prison. Pennsylvania Supreme Court Overturns Sex Assault Conviction

Bill Cosby walked out of state prison on Wednesday afternoon, 6/30, just hours after the Pennsylvania Supreme Court overturned his conviction on sexual assault charges. They voted 4-3. 83-year-old Cosby had served over 2 years of a 10-year sentence. He left SCI Phoenix in Montgomery County and returned to his home in Cheltenham just outside Philadelphia.

21-year-old Mason Hall of Norristown admitted today, 6/29, to sexually assaulting a female at gunpoint at a Montgomery County park in August 2017. Hall pled guilty to rape, along with charges of possession of an instrument of a crime, reckless endangerment, unlawful restraint, and related offenses. A man wanted in a fatal DUI hit-and-run crash on the Vine Street Expressway (I-676) was arrested by US Marshals on Monday, 6/28, after being on the run for a year and a half. 27-year-old Aaron Sims of Camden was taken into custody in West Philadelphia. He is charged in the death of 21-year-old Chloe Robertson, a Florida resident. It happened around 1:10 a.m. on January 25, 2020. Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was sentenced to 22 1/2 years in prison for the murder of George Floyd in court on Friday, 6/25. Chauvin could be eligible for parole in 15 years. He faced a minimum of 12 1/2 years and a maximum of 40 years. The prosecution had requested 30 years. An entire wing of 12-story beachfront condo building near Miami collapsed early Thursday morning, 6/24. It happened around 1:00 a.m. at the Champlain Tower South condominiums in the town of Surfside, Miami-Dade County. Imad Dawara Sentenced in Old City Arson; Philly Hits 70% Vaxxed; Cheerleader Gets Supreme Court Win

One of two Delaware County brothers has been sentenced in connection to a 2018 arson fire in Old City that destroyed several businesses and residences. In February, Imad and Bahaa Dawara pled guilty to conspiracy to commit arson and conspiracy to defraud the United States. 40-year-old Imad was sentenced to nine years in prison on Tuesday, 6/22. 32-year-old Bahaa will be sentenced on Thursday.

Authorities in Bucks County are searching for a retail thief caught on surveillance video stealing from the self-checkout line at an area Lowe's. It happened on Saturday, 6/19, at the hardware store on the 3400 block of Horizon Boulevard in Trevose. Bensalem Police say that the suspect switched the barcode on a $400 Dyson vacuum cleaner for a much cheaper item. He then went to the self-checkout and scanned the cheaper barcode.
