Philadelphia police arrested 15 people associated with Occupy Philadelphia over the weekend after blocking Eighth Street near Race Street just outside Police Headquarters.
The sit-in began about 17 hours earlier as a protest march against police brutality nationwide.

Haverford township has people talking... an antidiscrimination ordinance is facing a court challenge.
The ordinance includes provisions for protections in housing, commercial property, employment, and public accommodations against discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.

Today, President Barack Obama declared an end to the Iraq war and announced that all American troops would be withdrawn from the country by the end of the year. Obama declared the move a promise kept, a new day for a self-reliant Iraq and a focus on building up the economy at home.
"I can report that, as promised, the rest of our troops in Iraq will come home by the end of the year," Obama said. "After nearly nine years, America's war in Iraq will be over."

After Libyan fighters captured Sirte, Qaddafi's hometown, early Thursday, two months after the fall of Tripoli, the former dictator Muammar Qaddafi has been killed by soldiers.
"We have been waiting for this moment for a long time. Muammar Qaddafi has been killed," Prime Minister Mahmoud Jibril confirmed.

Bye week for the Eagles this week. The Eagles had traded Ronnie Brown for Detroit Lions running back Jerome Harrison and a 7th round draft pick in 2013, but the deal was voided Wednesday when Harrison failed his physical.
The Eagles did not disclose why he failed and would not comment on the report , citing both privacy concerns and the fact that Harrison is again a member of the Lions.
