Philadelphia will be losing more jobs as Sunoco pulls the plug on it's Marcus Hook refinery.
From Fox 29:
Sunoco is idling a refinery in suburban Philadelphia and says about 490 layoffs are expected.
Sunoco CEO Lynn Elsenhans said Thursday deteriorating market conditions are forcing the move at the facility in Marcus Hook.

Former Philadelphia schools superintendent Arlene Ackerman, who was given a nearly $1-million buyout earlier this year, has applied for unemployment.
This comes after taxpayers funded a $905,000 buyout when she was shown the door in August.
As part of her separation agreement, the School Reform Commission agreed not to contest any unemployment claims she might file.

"The Dilworth occupation is over," Mayor Nutter said at a news conference just before 7 a.m Wednesday.
Police swarmed around City Hall and rousted Occupy Philadelphia protesters from their encampment overnight, more than two days after a deadline passed for them to leave.
The occupiers responded by roaming around Center City, scattering and regrouping with police following their every move.

City workers are helping to clean up Dilworth Plaza as a few dozen Occupy Philadelphia protesters remain there in defiance of an order to clear out.
The demonstrators are now allowed to gather across the street at Thomas Paine Plaza from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily but does not allow them to pitch tents or to spend the night.
There are no signs that police plan to take action anytime soon.
