Alice's Restaurant is based on a true incident in the life of Arlo Guthrie that began on Thanksgiving Day 1965. Released in 1967, with its repetitive and catchy ragtime guitar backing, Arlo tells the tale of being arrested for illegally dumping some of Alice's garbage after discovering that the town dump was closed for the holiday.

Taylor Swift is bringing more pride to Pennsylvania, not to mention some more award hardware. Swift won three American Music Awards including beating Adele, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Lil Wayne for artist of the year. The 21-year-old Swift previously claimed the award in 2009.

He played third and first base, left field and right field. More than 500 investors crowded the ballroom at the Westin Hotel in Center City this week as the Philadelphia Housing Authority held its first auction of houses, lots, and other real estate.
The 400 properties were sold individually and in packages of two to 25.
