A police standoff and barricade situation that began on Christmas night in Chester County and lasted several hours finally ended when the SWAT negotiator sang a Christmas carol to the suspect. Family members of 34-year-old Nathaniel Lewis called police on Tuesday night, 12/25, saying that he was in the process of separating from his wife and was behaving erratically. The Delaware Department of Correction announced on Wednesday that an inmate had escaped from a facility on Christmas Day. 31-year-old David Succarote climbed over the perimeter fence of the Plummer Community Corrections Center in Wilmington. He was serving time for a probation violation and second degree robbery. Succarote is described as a white man with green eyes and brown hair. He is approximately 5-foot-8 and weighs 170 pounds. A young firefighter lost her life Christmas morning in a single-car crash in Hamilton Township, Atlantic County. It happened around 6:20 a.m. Tuesday, 12/25, on Landis Avenue, west of Estelle Avenue. 21-year-old Natalie Dempsey was responding to a call as a member of the Mizpah Volunteer Fire Department. Police are investigating a triple shooting in North Philadelphia believed to be a murder-suicide. It happened after 1:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon, 12/22, on 2100 block of North 10th near French Streets. Two men and one woman were found shot inside and near a car. Two workers were rescued after a building collapsed in North Philadelphia on Friday morning, 12/21. It happened just after 11:30 a.m. on Ridge Avenue and Vineyard Street near Girard Ave. The men were in an excavation site next to a vacant building when a wall from the building came crashing down and trapped them. The Bucks County Coroner has ruled the death of a toddler a homicide caused by blunt force trauma to the head. The autopsy was performed Wednesday night, 12/19. The 22-month-old boy was found dead in an apartment in Falls Township on Tuesday, 12/18. Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill posted the video of the vandal writing the word "acorn" on the outside wall off his grandmother's home. It happened around 12:45 p.m. on the 1800 block of Lippincott Street. 15-year-old George Gonzalez was on his way home from Mastbaum High School after an early dismissal when he was jumped and assaulted by a group of around two dozen teens.
