Montgomery County officials announced two new coronavirus cases. These two new presumptive positive COVID-19 cases are from the same household in Lower Merion Township. They are being treated for mild symptoms and are in isolation at home. This brings the total in PA to 6. Amtrak is suspending its nonstop high-speed Acela service that runs between New York and Washington, D.C. between Tuesday, March 10 and Tuesday, May 26 as customer demand weakens due to concerns over the coronavirus (COVID-19). Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf signed an emergency disaster declaration on Friday, 3/6, in response to any impending coronavirus outbreak in the state. This will allow state agencies to work together easier. He also directed $20 million in unused appropriated funds towards fighting the virus. The warning period for being caught on camera speeding through work zones on Pennsylvania highways is now over. Starting Wednesday, 3/4, drivers can be fined when caught driving 11 mph over the posted work zone speed limit in an active zone. The first violation will merit a warning.
