Havertown, PA - The Bryn Mawr performance venue where the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Bonnie Raitt and George Carlin got their start will finally get its due. Local fans of the once nationally famous "Main Point" plan to forever memorialize its location on this 40th anniversary year since its closure.

New Castle County and Elsmere Police are investigating after a female clerk was found dead inside a Metro by T-Moble store on Saturday afternoon, 5/15. It happened just after 5 p.m. at the Metro PCS store on the 900 block of Kirkwood Highway in Elsmere, DE. Police were called when the store was found unoccupied with the register open. Man Survives Crash into Wissahickon Creek; Deadly Wrong Way Crash; NJ Hit-And-Run Suspect Sought

A man survived after his car veered off the road and plunged into the Wissahickon Creek early Saturday morning, 5/15. It happened just after 5 a.m. on the 4600 block of Ridge Avenue in Roxbourough. The driver lost control and went off the road. The car landed on its roof on some rocks in the creek and water started filling the vehicle. Rescuers were able to get the man out in time. He was taken to Lankenau Medical Center. No word on his current condition or what caused the crash.Read More

Philly Mayor Kenney says Partial Remains from MOVE Victims Have Been Found, Not Destroyed

Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney announced on Friday night, 5/14, that the partial human remains of victims from the 1985 MOVE bombing investigation, previously believed to have been destroyed, have now been found. In 2017, former Health Commissioner Dr. Thomas Farley ordered the cremation and disposal of those remains without notifying the family. The Wildwood Crest Board of Commissioners passed ordinances this week banning smoking on the beach and limiting use of recreational marijuana in certain public places. All of the new ordinances will go into effect on June 7. Wildwood Crest used to allow designated smoking areas on the beach, but now the entire beach will be smoke free. Philadelphia Health Commissioner Dr. Thomas Farley has abruptly resigned over his handling of partial human remains from victims of the 1985 MOVE bombing. Today, 5/13, is the 36th anniversary of the tragedy in West Philadelphia. In 2017, Medical Examiner Sam Gulino found remains in a box related to the investigation of the bombing. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) says that the fire that destroyed the historic St. Leo the Great Roman Catholic Church in Tacony on Sunday, 5/9, was intentionally set. They said that the fire was 'incendiary in nature.' The ATF and the Citizens Crime Commission are offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction. Eight people were injured when a car crashed into an outdoor eating area of a restaurant in Northern Liberties on Wednesday morning, 5/12. It happened around 10:45 at Cafe La Maude on the 800 block of North 4th Street. The exact cause of the crash is not yet clear, but a silver sedan with front end damage is left at the scene. Apparently, one car tried to go around another and hit the structure. The injured were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
