A volunteer high school lacrosse coach is being charged after striking a member of the opposing team during a game last month. 50-year-old Garth Little is charged with harassment. He was a coach for Methacton High School men's lacrosse. It happened on May 14 in a game against North Penn and was caught on video. During gameplay, North Penn players were forced out-of-bounds and onto the Methacton sidelines. As North Penn player #1 was returning to the field, Little (who had one arm in a sling) shoved the player in the helmet. That caused a dust up on the field. Little was ejected from the game. "Since it was a strike to the helmet," Towamencin Township Police Chief Timothy said, "and being that there was no bodily injury, it did not meet the criteria to be classified as a simple assault." Little could face a $300 fine and a maximum sentence of 90 days in jail.

A 74-year-old Delaware man was struck and killed while mowing his lawn on Saturday evening, 6/12. It happened just before 8 p.m. on the 4000 block of Westville Road in the Camden Wyoming area. The man was mowing in a ditch in front of his home when a car veered off the road, hit a culvert pipe, overturned, and pinned him underneath. He was rushed to Bayhealth Hospital in Kent, DE, where he was pronounced dead. The 59-year-old female driver of the Hyundai Santa Fe was treated at the scene for minor injuries and released. The cause of the crash is under investigation. If you have any information, contact Sgt. J. Wheatley by calling 302-698-8518.

Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson Township, NJ, debuted their latest roller coaster this weekend. The aptly named Jersey Devil Coaster is billed as the world's tallest, fastest, and longest single rail coaster. It is 13 stories high, goes 58 mph, and is 3,000 feet long. The train seats 12 passengers in a line, straddling the single rail. A lot of great twists, turns, and inversions. Mother Leeds may have birthed this one herself.

"Legend says the Jersey Devil has haunted the Pine Barrens for centuries, soaring stealthily through the woods in the dark of night before attacking its prey," Six Flags says. "Modern-day folklore even places this beast near the theme park's Great Lake, with its menacing, curled horns manifesting under a full moon."
