Geno's Takes Down Iconic Sign, Family Kicked Out of Friendly's, Pedestrian Killed in Chester Crash

Philadelphia's iconic cheesesteak restaurant Geno's has taken down its controversial sign saying "This is Amercia, When ordering Speak English." The sign was put up in 2006 by the late owner Joey Vento who passed away in 2011. The sign was also recently in the spotlight when Donald Trump visited Geno's in one of his campaign trips to Philly. Vento's son Geno, who now runs the resturaunt, has not yet commented on the matter.

Multi-Car Crash in Tacony, Baby Falls Down Elevator Shaft in NY, Man Charged Killing Missing Woman

A multi-car crash occurred in the Tacony section of Philadelphia Thursday which involved a police cruiser. The crash happened at 11:47 am at the intersection of Tacony Street and Bridge Street. Police said the crash happened because of a driver running a red causing a chain reaction of crashes. A 33-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. No police were injured during the crash.

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie faces a citizen's complaint of official misconduct in the case of lane closures to the George Washingon Bridge in Fort Lee, NJ in September 2013. A judge signed the summons on Thursday and it is now in the hands of the Bergen County prosecutor's office who will determine if it leads to an indictment. Darby police are now searching for a suspect who is responsible for stabbing a woman to death in her home. The stabbing took place in the victim;s home on the 500 block of Spruce Street in Darby. Police identified the victim as 51-year-old Diane Hart. She was found with multiple stab and slash wounds to the head, neck and chest. A family in Philadelphia was subject to a frightening home invasion on Tuesday night. The home invasion happened in the Lawncrest section of Philadelphia on the 1300 block of Hellerman Street. Two unidentified men broke into the family's house at around 7:45 pm Tuesday night, and held the husband and wife at gunpoint. Rt.1 Reopens in DE, Chickens on Road; Fire in North Philly; Camden Field Vandalized

Rt. 1 in Delaware reopened late this morning after an early morning accident involving two tractor trailers that spilled chickens onto the roadway. It happened just before 4 a.m. in the southbound lanes near the Smyrna exit 119. One of the trucks overturned and dumped its load of live chickens over a stretch of the highway. The southbound lanes were closed for several hours as crews worked to cleanup the wreck and round up the chickens. The highway reopened around 10:15 a.m.

The Philadelphia mail distribution center is now facing serious fraud accusations. The center was under video surveillance for the past 8 weeks without the employees knowing. The video caught two supervisors allegedly falsifying time sheets so they could receive thousands of dollars in overtime that they didn't earn. Rapper Drake has announced that he will be canceling the remainder of his Summer Sixteen tour due to injury. That includes a concert date scheduled for this Thursday, October 13th at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. A show in Toronto, and 2 shows in both Newark, NJ, and Brooklyn, NY were also canceled. Police responded to a call of a domestic dispute that turned deadly between a couple in North Philadelphia Tuesday morning. The incident took place at the couple's house on the 2100 block of South 60th Street. The dispute was between a 20-year-old woman and her 26-year-old boyfriend. The woman stabbed her boyfriend in the neck in the home at around 9 am on Tuesday. The man was rushed to the hospital, where he later died. A triple shooting in Northeast Philadelphia has left two injured and one teen dead. It happened around 9:10 p.m. Monday on the 3100 block of Stirling Street in the city's Mayfair section across the street from a playground and rec center. A 17-year-old boy was shot in the chest and 16-year-old boy was shot in the stomach. They were both taken to the hospital. The 17-year-old died while the 16-year-old is in critical condition.
