Demonstrators gathered on Sunday for the fifth time this week to protest Donald Trump being elected as President. Protestors met on Sunday at Thomas Paine Plaza near City Hall, and continued their march down Market Street towards Independence Mall. Police had rolling closures of streets in the city going while protestors marched. Police are now investigating after a man was shot and killed in the Tioga-Nicetown section of Philadelphia. Police say the incident happened at around 3:00 pm Friday, on the 3800 block of North 18th Street. Police arrived on the scene to find a 34-year-old man with gun shot wounds to his chest and chin, the man died on the scene. The identity of the victim has not yet been released. President-elect Donald Trump has asked Vice President-elect Mike Pence to take over the transition team as they prepare for the White House. He will be taking the reigns from New Jersey Governor Chris Christie who had been leading the transition efforts pre-election. Christie will now be one of several vice chairs. Police have now identified a suspect that is responsible for a hit-and-run accident that took place in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, which injured two police officers. 31-year-old Allen Terrell has been put into police custody for the incident. The state of New Jersey has now taken power over the struggling Atlantic City. The New Jersey Local Finance Board voted 5-0 Wednesday to take over the city's main governmental functions. The state Department of Community Affairs rejected the city's proposed 5-year financial turnaround plan presented last week.
