Hot Air Balloon Landing In Park, No Charges For Victim Shooting Robbers, SEPTA Detours for Marathon

A hot air balloon made an unexpected landing at a park on Wednesday afternoon. The balloon landed at McKinley Playground at C and Westmoreland Streets in the Kensington section of Philadelphia. The balloon reportedly had the proper clearances to fly in the air and was coming from Pottstown. The pilot stated that the balloon was supposed to make a landing at a Home Depot along Roosevelt Boulevard. Search For Bank Robbing Suspect, Six Men Arrested In Prostitution Sting, Milestone For Building

Police are now searching for a suspect who is wanted for robbing a bank in Center City. The robbery took place Wednesday afternoon at the Republic Bank on the 1600 block of Market Street. Police say the man walked into the bank, and handed the teller a note demanding cash. After receiving the unknown amount of cash, the man was able to run away on foot. Officials are investigating after two people were shot inside of a pizza shop in Levittown, Bucks County last night. It happened inside of Porfirio's II Pizza, Steaks, and Hoagies on the 900 block of Veteran Highway. Middletown Township Police say that a customer and two employees were inside around 10 pm when two armed robbers entered. City officials announced today that Philadelphia schools may be seeing a change in their calendar over the next year. The Philadelphia School Reform Commission was given a proposal on Tuesday at their meeting that would bring the start day of schools up to September 5th and have school finish up on June 14th. A Philadelphia high school student was rushed to the hospital on Monday after a fight broke out at school. The incident took place at the Penn Treaty School on the 600 block of Thompson Street in the Fishtown section of Philadelphia. Twin brothers in Chester County have been sentenced to six to 23 months in prison and 5 years probation during which they are barred from contact with each other. Daniel and Caleb Tate plead guilty to arson and misdemeanor retail theft charges.
