Man Dead in Schuylkill River at Market; Wrong Way Drunk Hits Cop; Man Dead After Roxborough Standoff

A man was pulled from the Schuylkill River late Saturday morning. The 39-year-old was found floating in the river near the Market Street bridge on the University City side just before 10 am. He was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 10:59 a.m. His identity has not been released. Police are investigating how the man ended up in the river.

PPA Offers Free Holiday Parking, PA Vote Audit, Parents ID'd In 2-year-old Shooting

The Philadelphia Parking Authority will continue to offer their annual free holiday parking throughout the city at meters. The free parking will be available on Saturdays starting after 11 am. The Philadelphia Parking Authority stated they want visitors to take advantage of the free parking, while they can take in the sights, sounds, and food Philly has to offer. Today marks the 25th anniversary of the disappearance of a Cape May County boy. Friends and family are gathering at Cape May County Park-South on the 900 block of Shore Road for a vigil at 4 p.m. On November 25, 1991, 11-year-old Mark Himebaugh went missing. At around 3:30 p.m. he walked from his home to check out a fire nearby in the neighborhood. Witnesses recall seeing him there and saw him going home. Three people were injured during a shooting that took place in the Juniata section of Philadelphia Thursday morning. The incident happened on the 4000 Block of Howland Street just before 11 am when the three victims were hanging up Christmas lights outside of their home. They are looking for a silver 2009-2016 Nissan Maxima or Altima with damage to one of the front headlights and the front grill area. It happened on Friday night near 63rd and Lansdowne. With machines down, the stores that are affected can only take cash as a form of payment, and many customers were unable to make their purchases. Philadelphia Police, as well as SWAT teams and fire crews responded to a call of a man who had barricaded himself in a West Philadelphia home. The incident took place at 53rd Street and Haverford Avenue just before 7 pm. It is suspected that the person inside the home is possibly known by law enforcement.
