Geno's Takes Down Iconic Sign, Family Kicked Out of Friendly's, Pedestrian Killed in Chester Crash

Philadelphia's iconic cheesesteak restaurant Geno's has taken down its controversial sign saying "This is Amercia, When ordering Speak English." The sign was put up in 2006 by the late owner Joey Vento who passed away in 2011. The sign was also recently in the spotlight when Donald Trump visited Geno's in one of his campaign trips to Philly. Vento's son Geno, who now runs the resturaunt, has not yet commented on the matter.

A Pottstown family is outraged and embarrassed after they were asked to leave the Friendly's restaurant on Saturday. Terri Lyn-Sellers took her family out to lunch on Saturday afternoon and while they were waiting for their food, her 5-year-old, who is partially non-verbal autistic, started to cry. After 5 minutes, the manager came over and asked the family to leave because the boy was being too loud, and that people were staring at them. Sellers asked the manager for time for her son to calm down, but the manager still kicked them out. The Friendly's corporate office stated they are aware of the situation, and says the manager plans to address the issue.

The Pennsylvania State Police are now investigating a fatal car crash that happened Thursday night in Chester County. The accident took place in East Marlbourough Township near E. Baltimore Pike and McFarlan Road at around 7:30 pm. Officials say a pedestrian was struck and killed by one of the vehicles in the crash. It is not clear if the vehicle remained on the scene. East Baltimrore Pike was closed between Rt. 82 and MacFarlan Road.
