Two CSX freight trains collided this morning in Chester, Delaware County. It happened at 8:25 a.m. at a track interlocking between Kerlin Street and Concord Road. The two trains hit head-on. One was traveling from Richmond, Virginia to Pavonia, New Jersey with three locomotives and 64 empty freight cars. The other was traveling from Quebec, Canada to Atlanta, Georgia, with one locomotive and eight intermodal cars carrying consumer goods and food products. Each train had two crew members... Police are currently investigating a shooting that happened in North Philadelphia that left one woman dead and one man wounded. The shooting happened in the early hours of Thursday morning on the 2600 block of Welsh Road. Officials say that two people approached the victims, that's when one of the suspects opened fire. $265 Million Settlement Amtrak 188; No Seyvn Streeter Sixers Anthem; Sentence DA's GF Slash Tires

A settlement has been reached in the fatal Amtrak 188 crash in Port Richmond last year. Amtrak has agreed to payout a record $265 million to victims and their families. The settlement was approved by a judge today. The crash happened in May of 2015. The train was going 106 mph in a 50 mph zone around a curve at Frankford Junction when it derailed. 8 people were killed and over 200 were injured. The Haverford School's headmaster, Dr. John Nagl, will now be getting his job back starting this Friday. Nagl was put on leave two weeks ago after he was arrested and charged with simple assault during an altercation with his son over marijuana. Delaware County's District Attorney has gotten rid of Nagl's simple assault charge, stating there was not enough evidence. An arrest warrant has been issued for 50-year-old Reginald Phillips, whose last known address was on the 3100 block of N. Broad Street. Authorities say that a man and a woman who were wanted for a shooting that happened in Delaware, were shot and killed at a hotel in Elkton, Maryland, after a confrontation with police. The victims have been identified as 25-year-old Brandon Jones and 25-year-old Chelsea Porter who were both from Dover, Delaware. Police are now searching for a man who is responsible for stealing a woman's car that had her child still in it on Monday night. The incident happened around 9 pm on the 6400 block of Frankford Avenue in Mayfair. The woman had gotten out of her car to use the ATM, leaving her car on and her 6-year-old son in the back seat.
